Has anyone tried Duloxetine?

Newly diagnosed with Fibro after being in pain since 2006.

Amitriptyline doesn't work for me and I couldn't deal with the side effects either.

Tramadol does take the edge off and it gives me energy but I'm worried about getting addicted to this so don't really want to be on it long term x

Ahh sorry to hear that rosewine. I hated Amitriptyline, have you tried that? Are you currently taking anything now that helps you?

I take Pregablin for the fibro pain and it does take off most of the burning, shooting pains and I definitely have less muscle pain. I have osteoarthritis so take Cocodamal and ibuprofen which I feel helps with the fibro also. Amitriptyline is the one antidepressant I haven't tried but all the others have in different ways made me feel very ill with one the chest pains were so bad Unthought I was having a heart attack and couldn't breathe. I've got too much going on at the moment as my husband has cancer but when I know things are more settled I might ask the to if I can try it nothing ventured nothing gained.x

I am now starting on Gabapentin. It does get some getting used to (the 1st week when only taking 900mg per day I was acting like a drunken zombie) but I am feeling better than I have for years and am starting to slowly build up to 2700mg per day. Three weeks after starting I have high hopes but I wouldn't recommend trying to work whilst adjusting to it

side effects were too much for me.... Getting more sleep and eating regularly and having a short walk each day helped me more than any drug or diet

Me too. Meds caused me more harm...

Though, I do use Better You - magnesium oil spray. Spray on affected joints daily. No gut issues or brain issues with it. Magnesium is an essential mineral and calms people too so that's a bonus.
