Back issues following lumbar punctures
On the 1st Feb I was admitted to hospital and after a number of lumbar punctures was diagnosed with actue meningitis. My first lumbar puncture needed to be repeated as I was already on antibiotics which effected the cultures. During my second lumbar puncture the doctor attempted three times but failed

Could burning shoulders be something other than GCA PMR?
Stuck on 9mg prednisolone after 3 and a bit years. Azathioprine as steroid sparer. Rheumatologist always say shoulder pain is not the disease, has sent me for ultrasound, x ray and physiotherapy all of which rule out osteoarthritis. I am also taking pregabalin and full dose of tramadol for back pain,

Amitriptyline for Fibromyalgia
After several months of slowly lowering my dosages of Gabapentin, Tramadol and Duloxetine I have been put on Amitriptyline. However, I am really not coping with it (started on 10mg and upto 20mg to date). My pain is really bad - but this has been the way all year, probably longer. I'm not sleeping

I have had 3 ops waiting for 1 year now for the 4th. Affected now 90% of the time with pain, fatigue and nausea. Barely sleep and the tramadol has lost its affect. Self employed but can barely work. Any advice? I wrote to my MP a few days ago I am so desperate. Doctors are flat out but no resources.

A question about pain in legs.
I've just read the post from jimandgil about pain in the groin and legs and didn't want to hijack his post so will start from scratch. I have been having severe pain in my legs very much like one would describe if one had the flu. I have had similar before and it's been a side effect of some medications

Are official complaints about GPs taken seriously?
I haven't made an official complaint because I didn't think it would be taken seriously. I recently moved here and the first GP I saw removed my tramadol and told me that walking will remove my pain. He asked if I worked and I said not currently so he told me that I must sit watching TV all day then.
