Thanks to all who commented and replied to my post. I have tried tramadol and codeine which didn’t work at all, I’m considering buying cbd oil which is expensive here in uk on black market but I don’t care I just want to be normal or at least have a few hours sleep without waking up to the pinching that starts off the rls and as you will all know once it starts you know your night is going to be just the same as every other night.. walking round the room like a zombie praying for a miracle to stop the symptoms

Again, sorry to hear it's so bad. It does sound as if it distresses you very greatly and you'll probably hate me for saying this, but part of the problem is psychological. I wrote PART, I know RLS is very physical.

Anxiety is a significant factor in RLS and the greater the anxiety, the less likely you are to sleep. This may be because rather than accepting the effects of your RLS you are struggling and fighting with them. This stirs up the stress hormones. Particularly walking around (aimlessly) praying for a miracle as you've probably realised doesn't do anything except perhaps make you more anxious.

When I've had severe insomnia, e.g. being up ALL night, I try to do something positive, creative and which occupies my mind. This cmeans that not only do I not get over anxious I actually use what I see as "extra" time constructively.

I also find that although standard relaxation techniques and "still" meditation techniques are fairly useless when having an RLS episode that mindfulness techniques can be quite effective.

Finally, I suggest you try contacting Dr Buckfuhfrer for further advice on the medical side. Click the link below, scroll down to the yellow email button on the left side and email him, explain your situation and ask for advice. Dr B is for real!

You may have to increase your dose amount tramadol works for me at 100 mgms each time I need it.the only thing here in the US is finding a doctor willing to write it up.The powers that be keep a close watch on them.It is prescribed for back pain but not on the list for RLS so when the prescribe it they get a letter from the vigilante as to why.The same applies to codeine I don,t remember if it still contains Tylenol in the U.K. but if it does that puts a binder on too much increase in dosage.I have a problem with it keeping me awake but am willing to do without sleep in order to not have the frightful RLS I have very severe bouts every single day and often more so am profoundly grateful to take tramadol.

CBD oil is not purchased on the black market in the UK and will do little more than placebo for RLS and the pain that goes with it - if my experience is anything to go by, oh yeah you'll pay through the nose for that pleasure too.

Now CANNABIS OIL - which contains not only the cannabinoid CBD but also includes the 100+ cannabinoids that cannabis has:

pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac...

Now not all cannabinoids are created equally and some work on some areas better than others and the 8 major ones are described here:

leafly.com/news/cannabis-10...

Cannabis oil is bought on the black market and is more difficult to get therefore it might be better getting the cannabis plant material and using it to make oil.

However if you don't do any reading and decide to buy some cannabis for your oil I have some good quality grass available - I just mowed my lawn!!!
