CATCH- up-CORNER... JANUARY WEEK 4.... PLEASE, Come on in... take a breather. Everyone is Welcome.
Think
yoga
. Belly breathing uses not just the belly, but all of the lung capacity. Getting that air in and right down to the bottom bit of your lungs... lots of oxygen! But, ( yep, there is always a but with me), belly breathing means a relaxed core.. uh oh, while I am running...?

Naked phones, naked and vest-less runs
Not wanting to disrupt my down dog, I click the phone alarm off, and we finish the
Yoga
. But what do I see once finished, and on picking up my phone? The back panel now has several breaks in it. It’s broken! My mood goes from post-
yoga
elation to post-breakage despair.

Pilates - where to start
Naturally, I’m intrigued as I have never considered it or even looked at Pilates or
Yoga
seriously before. I’m hoping to change that. I would be very grateful if fellow VRBs could give me some pointers for resources to get me started or could share experiences and any other advice.

Advice on reducing TSH
One GP said they’ve seen people reduce their TSH through diet and
yoga
- can anyone offer any thoughts on this? Am I better off paying to see a private endo or will they refuse the medication too?

What are realistic expectations?
Like many people , I've gone from being a jogger, walker, pilates and
yoga
fan to managing a leisurely amble on level ground in the afternoon or evening. I can't even do some basic
yoga
positions at present. I shall contact my GP again to discuss, but thought I'd ask the real experts.

Mudra - yoga in your hands
There is always an aspect of
yoga
available to you. I find mudras so helpful to explore. How they can influence energy within. Or to experience a feeling of deep inner support. Or perhaps a long held wound buried deep in the tissues, has the opportunity to crack open and release.

Exercise
I have read that “downward dog” in
yoga
and headstands raise the IOP. I do TaiChi, which is calming, but I will miss out some of the balance and breathing exercises, which involve bending down to the floor. Thankfully, walking and cardiovascular exercises are helpful to glaucoma in general.

Getting back to normal after a flare up
I still feel drained, and I'm struggling getting back into a routine, eating well and drinking water etc, usually I love working out and
yoga
but feel like I've taken 10 steps backwards with any progress I've made. Anyone else feel this way? I guess it's just hard to return to "normal" life again.

Slow and steady got me to 6k and 44 mins of running!
Feeling pretty happy tonight whilst I soak in a big bubble bath and drink tea ☕️ Oh by the way I found a really good post run deep stretch video on YouTube which I completed when I got home and I thoroughly recommend, especially if you like a bit of
yoga
too, here’s the link: https://m.youtube.com

Fortnightly S&F catch-up: Are your recovery days planned or accidental?
I am also aware many are busy with the James Dunne challenge but just wanted to take the opportunity to check in and ask all of our other workout buddies, Who is still doing daily
Yoga
? I see Strava is still full of
Yoga
posts, so that’s great to see. Any Pilates people?

Physio - thoughts on this ?
I certainly couldn’t get onto a
yoga
mat and repeated invitations to come paddle boarding - well haha ! I can’t do that either. I think they just think I’m not trying. Anyone else tried physio ?

downhearted 😂
I am 69 and have always walked the dog every day, exercised every day (Pilates,
yoga
, running, swimming, ballet, tap) and was a trapeze artist betweeen the ages of 50 and 61. I have never smoked, drunk alcohol or had a sweet tooth and have always eaten a heart healthy diet.
