This is a fantastic low carb. high protein and gluten free idea for a meal and it has 15-27 total carbs. depending on the amount you ate. I plan to get this again next time I go out in a few weeks. šš

Home made pork scratching with salad. There's half an avocado in there somewhere. I can honestly say that my wife makes the best pork scratching in the world. And salad.

Restoring Hearth Rhythm through drugs - is it a gradual process?
Since the beginning of the month I have been on a
weight
-
loss
regime - my BMI was over 28 - a heart-healthy
diet
and tincture of Hawthorn (Cretaegus). It's early days but I'm feeling more energy. There are claims that cretaegus restores NSR.

Link to a recipe tip for a PMR Friendly Diet Snack for when the Pred Hunger bites , tried and tested and suprisingly tasty!
Hope you are all enjoying a good Bank Holiday weekend folks. We talk alot about the " Pred Hunger" , for most an almost inevitable side effect of being on steroids and how it effects our blood sugar levels. We want a snack but need to stay away from carbs that make the hunger worse , and gluten that

Mission Accomplished!
Never having been on a

diet
before I had no idea how it would go. But in just four weeks I managed to lose 12 1/2lbs. I haven't quite lost the couple of inches around my waist - nearly, not quite.

Beans!
Since runner beans were mentioned somewhere, I figured it's time for a post on beans. They're not exactly low-carb, but they're low-ish, and they're a good source of protein and fat for vegetarian LCHFers. They're also incredibly versatile and have a surprising range of different flavours. As proof

Amazing weight loss via Cambridge Diet
Most of my life Iāve been underweight but I made massive gains after 45. I buried my head in the sand and I donāt think Iāve weighed myself in years. This year, when none of my winter coats would button up any longer, I began to wake up to the reality of my size and when I saw a neighbour who was almost

Just in case anyone missed it, Kes8 posted a link to this website: https://thelowcarbkitchen.co.uk/ Which has some really good ideas on it for those of you who miss your carbs! Apart from that, the author's story is well worth reading. She states that she's T1D, but the course of her illness sounds

I had bariatric surgery almost six weeks ago and was finally allowed to have prednisone in the fifth week. Meanwhile I was on my fourth bout of PMR since getting it first in 2002. I was not allowed prednisone for the five months leading up to the surgery and one month after. In the last weeks of this
