Hi I am Herman7275 , not been here for a while, but thought I would tell all of my progress, I have been seeing a team from a bariactrics div. and I started a LCHF New Way of Life on March 12th. Since then I have lost 45lbs. they have taken 104 units of insulin away from me that I don't need, I am only eating 50 or less carbs a day, riding 7 miles a day on my bike and I feel alot better, well I feel fantastic, cholesteral is better than it has been in 35 years... I never thought this could happen to me at this stage in my life but it has and I can do it and I still have much more to loose and I will succeed!!!

My cholesterol has never been right in the last 35 years until I started this new way of life, my last reading was 142, my trigligliserides were above 300 now they are normal.

Herman - 50 or less carbs a day is an incredible achievement I think! My target is less than 130 and I am pleased I hit that about 70% of the time 😁.

I wish I could ride a bike but my balance has gone - hoping it will come back after an op on my back in September-have been waiting over a year because I had a liver transplant (thank goodness 👍) in August last year and they don’t do any major ops till a year has gone by!

Are you in UK?

Good luck with your progress. Do you set yourself any other targets other than carbs. I mean how can you take insulin away? Is that under doctors direction?

Oh I have just seen your diet stuff below - I guess that answers a lot of questions! My my you are very determined indeed! Good job again!!

yes under dr's direction on the insulin....I watch 75g of fat, 50 g of protein, & 50 g of carbs.... calories come in as1,075 but I don't worry bout the calories, just the carbs, some days I don't eat 30 or 40 carbs.. I used to piece at night, it killed my weight, but since I started this new way of life, I don't snack at all!!! maybe a couple pieces of cheese...I drink alot of water, sometimes they say too much !!! I drink coffee (black) and thats all I have had to drink since March 12th..No I am not in the UK, always wanted to visit that area, tried to get stationed there when I served in the Navy, but never made it... I live in the U.S. Indiana...

Would it be possible to list the food and drinks you take on a daily basis? Thanks.

sure, I do not eat any potato, bread, rice, pasta, sugar, artifical sugar. I eat eggs, cheese, lean meats, baked or grilled fish, chicken, or lean pork, eat a lot of cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, they want me to eat 5 servings of vegis a day, usually have 3 cups,I can eat but dislike brussel sprouts and spinach and kale. I can have strawberries, black & red berries and blueberries...I have been told to join, which I have and use alot of these recipes to break up the few amount of choices available. The site is dietdr.com, I drink alot of water and I drink black coffee only, nothing else.
