So I’m stopping smoking in a week, I’m trying these tablets called champix and I’m on my 3rd day so far. Apparently on the second week they start to kick in and makes you feel abit nauseous when around tobacco, don’t know if that would be helpful for anyone. I would really like some tips on keeping my

Could this be APS
He sleeps all the time ( tested for apnea but fine) 2 days ago he had another
vision
loss
same as before about 10mins black curtain effect. Propanalol for migraines hasn’t done anything. His mum has tested positive for ‘sticky blood’ after TIA and takes clopidogrel.

SERIOUSLY BIG
Hello, I’m new here and just wanted to share my story in the hope of finding support and people like me. And when I say like me, I mean SERIOUSLY morbidly obese, not ‘oh I’m 11 stone and I need to lose weight’ I’m 30 stone and have a BMI of 76. So yeah, it’s no competition, but you do not know how hard

Delayed eye appointment warning
I feel I have lost 3 months and possible further
loss
of
vision
. I am not posting to be alarmist merely to suggest that anyone in a similar position would be well advised to be proactive and be seen as soon as possible.

Still feeling unstable
Hi all, still feeling quite ill despite not taking my T3, so can rule out that it was that alone causing my symptoms. I have been taking my usual levothyroxine by almus at 100mcg and 25 mcg wockhart. Inside on the PIL there are no ingredients listed for Almus and during an online search it has came up

Giant Cell Arteritis and Prednisone
Had many side effects of the Prednisone – swollen ankles, dry mouth, bad taste in mouth,
loss
of muscle mass,
loss
of weight, blurring
vision
(perhaps cataracts) ,
loss
of hair, courser skin, no strength, no energy – and ever changing!

Could this be only prednisone withdrawal?
I’m experiencing a terrible headache, blurry
vision
, fatigue,
loss
of appetite, awful depression, anger and anxiety...it’s covid so I’m afraid to go out, much less to ER. All medical offices are only doing phone or video visits. I’m worried that this may not be just withdrawal. Thanks.

Good News about Cirrhosis?
With all this Covid 19 madness, I’ve kind of forgotten about my husbands cirrhosis. Has anyone heard any good news for cirrhosis lately? Anything on the horizon? I’m wondering about Vitamin E and if that helps. I also read that Gastric weight loss surgery has done good things for NASH related cirrhosis

Can GCA flare be triggered by a fall?
I have recently been diagnosed with increased ocular pressure and glaucoma which the eye dr thinks may well have been caused by the high dose Pred ( I was on 40 then 60 ) I am hoping that the reduction in Pred plus the eye drops will reduce pressure and halt any more

Changes to precribing controlled drugs - proposed

Mild cerebellar atrophy
Hi My husband had a scan for suspected tia/strike after temporary
loss
of
vision
back in November 2019. The results of the MRI came back with mild cerebellar atrophy and 2 microbleeds. The stroke consultant said not to worry and try to blame alcohol as a cause although my husband doesn’t drink.

Feeling good about yourself
It would be so easy just to watch TV, eat, sleep and not even bother to shower or change clothes - yes I do it quite regularly when depressed or having a flare. I would like to wear some of my clothes I'm always saving for best and hardly ever or never get to wear. I'm 9 stone over weight and was due

Has weight loss improved your thyroid problems?
I've been reading a lot about the connection between hypothyroidism in weight gain and obesity. It's long been believed that hypothyroidism causes/contributes to obesity because of the metabolic effects of same, but there seems to be more research being done that questions that theory and now some researchers

WET AMD on a third world country
I'm pretty sure they don't know what a macular degeneration is or they think I don't have it and this is just a gradual
vision
loss
. I've tried to consult with 3 eye doctors already. Now I'm losing hope that I'll get this treated.
