The Heal My PTSD forum is a safe, supportive and informative space where survivors and their caregivers can connect to others with similar experiences. It is run by volunteers, which are PTSD survivors themselves. It was founded by award winning author and blogger, Michele Rosenthal, who has since moved on to other projects. This community is based on mutual support, exchanging experiences and ideas for healing. Our vision is to provide support and practical tips on how to cope in daily life with various PTSD symptoms (anxiety, depression, fear, flashbacks, nightmares, intrusive thoughts, hypervigilance, dissociation and others) as well as share successes and ideas for recovery. Our personal experiences and recovery journeys are unique but by connecting to others we discover that there are things we can relate to and that we truly aren’t alone.
Skin Cancer UK
447 members
WE ARE SKCIN.· The UK’s national melanoma and skin cancer charity dedicated to raising awareness through education to promote the prevention and early detection of skin cancer, to improve prognosis and save lives. With 86% of all skin cancers preventable and early diagnosis vital, education is key to combating the soaring rates of skin cancer in the UK. We focus on pioneering, proactive intervention on a national scale with targeted, bespoke, educational accreditation programmes that are accessible, impactful and measurable. Our work supports the call from public health as to who is most effective to help improve the nation’s health, addresses concerns raised in the Government’s 2020 Skin Cancer Vision and helps combat the huge financial burden that is estimated, by 2020, to cost the NHS over £180 million annually. Together, we can make a difference and save lives.
Cancer Journeys Foundation
380 members
The Cancer Journeys Foundation is a registered non-Profit Charity with the mission of providing cancer survivors and their supporters information, tools, and a community to create and implement cancer survivor programs. Our vision is a world where no one dies from cancer because they did not know they had the disease early enough for effective treatment or because they did not know what steps they personally could take to keep their cancer at bay. A world where every cancer survivor has the information and support they need to develop and implement their own unique self-help cancer survivor journey plan. Our goal for our community here in HealthUnlocked is to tap into the past experiences of cancer survivors and caregivers to pay it forward in helping survivors just beginning their cancer journeys. Our community leader, Robert Hess, is a 13-year prostate cancer survivor. Welcome!
