Loss of inner monologue
For the past few days I feel as if my inner monologue has been getting quieter? I don't know what's going on, or if 'it's all in my head' but I know that it wasn't like this before, my inner monologue was more noticeable before and now it seems as though it's just in the background kind of like I can't

a-Syn misfolding blockers/repairers (updated)
This is an update of a previous post. The number of compounds that help in the test tube or mice is overwhelming. Unfortunately, there is not a standard test to determine which ones reach the human brain and work the best. It's not possible to take all of them. But the long list gives hope: there

I think my 41 year old husband has Aspergers but I have absolutely no idea where we start!
Hi there, This is my first post on here. I once did a module, back in my Uni days, on Autism and Aspergers. Fast foward a few years to meeting my (then) boyfriend and he used to do things/say things/act in certain ways and in general, present, to me, (knowing what I'd previously learnt at uni), as being

Interstitial cystitis
I had a cystoscope done at the Urologist's office today and it was normal. Is that enough to rule out IC or do I need a cystoscope with hydrodistention to rule it out? I have also tried a few different meds for OAB, which only had minimal effect. Thanks in advance!

Relieved, but still have a concern
After having a TURP in October the biopsy showed some PC. As I am in a fairly good state of health for a 70 year old it was totally unexpected and I was dumbfounded. Saw a second Urologist and was told my MRI and bone scans were clear and that my PSA was 0.3, Gleason score 7 and the stage was TB1.

Trace blood in urine??
Hi I had my pre op on Friday and they done a urine test she said there was a trace of blood but no infection. For the last year or so I have had about 6 urine tests and they have all had a trace of blood. The samples were sent to be checked and came back clear with no problems. The dr said to follow

Holiday Awards
This is for everyone who needs a holiday, so this is for YOU. Having a great nephew who is inflicted with autism, holidays are a bit if a headache. So, if it's possible and I'm doing this correctly, I'd like to start a post whereby we can all share positive experiences. I've always been one for praising

Welcome to Scandinavia. This how we great and brave people treat thyroid issues
http://www.thyroidchange.org/our-blog/international-thyroid-series-thyroid-patients-in-scandinavia Was so depressing to read. That Danish "expert" is a moron. Swedish, oh well they just think they are so much better than the rest of the world. Finnish? I hate to say but our doctors rather bitch

Had my 6 monthly ultrasound scan yesterday to monitor for cancer. This was my first scan after passing 5 years cancer free since my liver resection in 2010. Blow me down the radiographer (who has done the 3 previous ones) has found a 'black spot' on segment 6 which is the opposite end to segment 3 where

I've suffered with a bladder prone to infection since I was approx 7. Symptoms have varied as has intensity of the years of the pain in my bladder. Never ending
Dont even know where to start. Ive had 2 laps the last one in March this year under a fab endo specialist. He removed most my endo apart from a small amount on my bowel. He did remove lots from my bowel, bladder, pelvic wall, basically everywhere apart from my ovaries and fallopian tubes and with that

I'm 56 and can finally let go of some anxiety
I was diagnosed early this week. I've been different all my life, and have amassed a number of individual "issues" and diagnoses over the years, but I've always known that something wasn't right. I knew that all these symptoms couldn't be individual, and that something must be causing the "big picture

Hiprex (methenamine - oral, Mandelamine, UrexHexamethylenetetramine): anyone?
My consultant urologist tells me hiprex is our fall-back treatment re the way we're managing the chronic issues involved in my various chronic urological/renal conditions. Nearly a year into finally tackling these lifelong problems in a more concerted manner, the treatment plan immunology+rheumatology

I am petrified of the bladder biopsy I am about to have..... Can anyone help?
I have been suffering with persistent abdominal pain which has in the past been treated as a uti but in January I managed to see a urologist who upon listening to my tail of woe agreed with me and suggested that I had developed interstitial cystitis. In order to be 100% sure about this, they want me
