Urinary Retention after Radiation
Has anyone else had "
Retention
" issues after radiation that have other solutions? I asked about surgical options and was told that it could cause leakage issues (just the opposite of my problem now).

Urinary retention after rectocele op.
Hi there I had a rectocele 5 days ago and just recovering at home. The bleeding nearly stopped now that’s good. But I am concerned as I can’t empty my bladder fully. At the hospital the day after the op when they took the catheter out I drank and was just able to wee slowly but left about 100ml in my

hi everyone Im looking for some support here from other guys who may be suffering or suffered from this. I am at the end of my tether with the NHS and I really cannot get a diagnosis of what is the matter with me. It was first diagnosed as BPH and I take 10mg of Alfusozin for this. But my bladder

My other concern (as if being in acute
urinary
retention
isn’t bad enough) is I’m still throwing blood clots (substantial and large) once or twice a day with considerable gross hematuria a few time afterwards.

Can Apixaban and Edoxaban cause urinary retention ?
I am known for having a bening prostatic hyperplasia since a few years but it seems that my
urinary
retention
had worsen singnificantly since taking these direct oral anti coagulants . My question is , to your knowledge ,can DOAC be a cause of
urinary
retention
?

self catheterization
I have questions: 1) will my
urinary
retention
improve after I finish my radiation? (I can handle it for awhile). My Dr. said it takes 2 months to recover from 2 months radiation. 2) If I were to start using a catheter, would that diminish my ability to pee or empty my bladder going forward?

bladder sphincter not working
Anyone else experience
urinary
retention
requiring manual pressure on bladder to start flow, flaccid bladder, no muscle tone, ten trips during days with maybe 8 oz dribbling. No conscious sphincter control on standing when gravity results in incontinence.

Bleeding when urinating
This has caused
urinary
retention
and a very uncomfortable hospital visit. It’s made more complicated by being on Warfarin. My question is, do you think this has anything to do with my 45 minutes 3mph walk on the gym treadmill at varying inclines? Obviously, I’m hoping it isn’t! Thanks.

Urinary Retention
Hello, my dad (age 61) was diagnosed with stage 4 (Gleason 9) with multiple bone metastases back in September of 2022. We have since found out he is also BRCA2 positive with a germline mutation. He has just completed round 6 of docetaxel yesterday. He has been complaining of difficulty urinating now

At 79 years of age I began experiencing acute
urinary
retention
which required three trips to hospital emergency room. During that year a Foley catheter was inserted at three times during the year.

I am worried about
urinary
retention
since I have a history of terrible UTI [which I believe caused PN in the first place]. I had one episode of low flow and what seemed like retention which also coincided with running out of meds.

D Mannose
Hello everyone Just wondered if anyone here has used D Mannose tablets to manage recurrent urinary tract infections and if so with what success? I’ve had this problem for a few years now and the Urologist suggested daily low dose antibiotics which I want to avoid. Despite trying all of the self

I have had long term UTIs arising post radiation therapy. I also have bile salts malabsorption which causes bowel issues so it’s not always easy to keep myself as clean as I would like and I have been told this is likely to be the cause of the repeated UTIs Up until recently for approx 6 years

I need some reassurance - I am so scared now.
I also suffer with
urinary
retention
and severe constipation from all the medications I have to take and have to strain very hard to pass a motion - but doing this after cystoscopy can burst the bladder or make it bleed. I have tried every laxative under the sun but nothing works.

Advice for my husband, looking at treatment options
The Nanoknife procedures were significant, on both occasions he endured
urinary
retention
for many weeks post op, self-catheterising. Erectile function has been impacted too by the Nanoknife procedures. And he has lost ejaculation, it's thought due to scarring.
