Ritalin for Brain Injury Symptom Treatment ...
About 18 months ago, during one of my regular chats with my GP about any advances in TBI treatment, I pointed out that I was the poster-child for ADHD of the Primarily Inattentive type and asked if it were possible to try any ADHD treatments to help mitigate the TBI attentional deficits. I drew particular

ALL HAIL THE MARATHONERS!!
PLease add your thoughts about these two amazing C25K'ers who completed a marathon on Sunday 12th April. I think they are incredible and just great. To think just two years ago, both girls were sleeping in a cardboard box underneath Waterloo Bridge, sharing a bottle of turps and swearing at passers

We went to Tesco's this afternoon...look at me, writing about a feckin' supermarket as though it's seriously interesting...anyway we went and the sky was bright blue and the wind howled and rocked the car when we came to the open parts of the road... Lorries were tucked into the slow lane...it must be

It's gone
I was diagnosed with stage 4 peritoneal cancer June last year at 42 it had spread to my lungs and chest, I also had tumours laying on my liver & diaphragm. I had 6 rounds of carboplatin and taxol followed by what the surgeons called ultra radical surgery it involved a full hysterectomy, a liver resection

ADHD and Depression are Bullsh*t!
Is it unrealistic the way bosses and fellow co-workers demand that everyone do the same amount of work? We're all built differently. To boot, many times, the way our bosses measure our performance is not very accurate. And what if you suffer from mental or physical disorders? Are you expected to

I'm Tuning You Out
I read the most fascinating analysis about ADHD from a highly regarded (and highly compassionate) Canadian physician, Gabor Maté. He says ADHD traits like tuning out and distractibility first develop as emotional defense mechanisms against distress (anxiety, sorrow and pain). The stages go something

Separation anxiety
Is separation anxiety a particularly strong future of FAE / ARND? This is one our biggest challenges with my son. He currently partially fits the diagnosis for ADHD, ASD, Anxiety Disorder, attachment issues, SPD; (I've also wondered about mild dyspraxia) but doesn't properly fit any of them enough for

Furious
Hi everyone, I'm absolutely fuming, this morning I'm watching a comedy called catastrophe that I recorded last night. The lady went to see a doctor to get a second opinion, the bit that made me seeth is the doctor said about her diagnosis was correct as it wasn't like ADHD or FIBROMYALGIA when it's up

Check this out..
This is kind of what I was hoping all would see... This is a person from my Facebook group... For years I identified myself by my ADHD. I made excuses for all my 'negative' symptoms by telling people I'm ADHD. Couple years back I found a book called 'the joys of ADHD' and it changed my life. The book

Anyone on Tocilizumab
I have had RD for approx 20years, my consultant recommended Tocilizumab infusions after Enbrel injections stopped working, but I have yet to discuss this with anyone at the clinic. I have been on various other medication such as MTX, Hydrox and had to come off those due to side effects. I would appreciate

Anyone know of a PA expert in the US?
Hi All-- I want to find an expert in the US. If they are near Seattle, WA would be ideal. I was diagnosed with PA 7 years ago at age 40 via antibody to instrinsic factor plus near 100 serum b12 levels by general primary doctor. Never was recommended an endoscopy, but after reading decided I should have
