Support Groups in Cumbria

Hi All

I am aware with growing membership of the group that for some people getting to meetings in Kendal area is not feasable for a variety of reasons. ( Oct 10 and December 1 )

In the absence of any mini meeting hubs elsewhere in the region currently, I am trialling any interest in the following before winter sets in !

The dates and venues have been chosen around my activities and partly dependent on public transport. I hope this is helpful.

Wednesday Oct 11th Tullie House cafe Carlisle @ 12.30

Wednesday November 8th Bowes Museum cafe , Barnard Castle @12.45

Thursday 16th November Booths cafe, Penrith @12.45

Monday November 20th Jaspers cafe , Braithwaite , nr Keswick @2pm

If you are able and interested in coming along to one of these please let me know asap. Thank you.

Additionally Yorkshire support group have kindly invited us to their regular Zoom meeting. Once I have the date, time and link I will forward this to you. I hope people are getting support for their condition PMR or GCA ( or indeed both) wherever you are on the journey – newly diagnosed, tapering steroids or in remission.

About par for the course in the UK isn't it - get out of the habit using your car they say. so they take away public transport! Even here they say get on your bike!

Well done to Rosemary for starting this group up and putting so much energy into it, she's achieved great things in a short space of time. And a big pat on the back and thank you for all those who run support groups like Estellemac. I'm supposed to be one of them but have been sitting on my @rse in the sidelines for a while as have too many things going on and mobility problems.

Penrith would have been brilliant for me, but will be away on the date. Could make Carlisle on 11th. Many thanks for all your creative thinking!
