Thanks to you all for oopherectomy advice
Good evening, Had my BSO op on Thursday. Got home yesterday. The biggest challenge was getting over the anaesthetic. As a result had to spend the night in hospital because I just could not wake up! Both the anaesthetist and the consultant said that I was very well informed about the procedure, pain relief

Mum & me
Ive noticed over the last few months that my mum has changed in some ways. Back in January she was full of life, happy & had loads of energy.. I envied her for that.. she complained of feeling not herself & I joked around saying she'd been around me too long & I was rubbing off on her, but I could see

Considering an Oopherectomy (for endo)
Hi Ladies, would anybody who has had this operation be able to share how it went, how you felt afterwards and how it affected your life generally, how the hrt has worked? I'm 42 and don't need ovaries for fertility reasons but confess the idea of removal disturbs me irrationally for some reason. It does

Hi. I am 38 and I have stage 4 Endo and I have just had to have both ovaries removed due to the damage made with cysts and very aggressive Endo growth which accelerated after a failed ivf treatment. Cause of Hot Flashes?
Are hot flashes caused by PMR or prednisone withdrawal, or can they be caused by either one?

Back pain/sciatic nerve issues
Hi all. This is my first post here. I was diagnosed with endo stage 4, 13 years ago. I have always been in pain and it has curtailed my life in so many ways. I am lucky to have only had 4 operations, for a bowel resection, pelvic excision (all my organs needed separating), endometrial cysts and a diagnostic

GIANT CELL TEMPORAL ARTERITIS AND THE LINK TO SEIZURES
It is 4 years plus since I was diagnosed with GCA [double vision etc, etc] and 2 years ago when down to 1mg of Prednisolone I had a relapse. I'm down to 2.5 mg of Pred now and continuing with a slow reduction. However, last year I had a seizure and had three more since. There is a research paper by P.L.Silbert

Hello all
My sister is healing from her look/see surgery. We have an appointment next week to go over the different chemo regimes. Is it the doctors who choose which drug you go on or does the patient have to decide? I am concerned that she has disengaged and assume that is due to the shock of the diagnosis.
