Thoughts, advice please
My orthopaedic Dr has just recommended I go
swimming
2 or 3 times a wk to help breastbone injury etc. This is OK but I'm worried about energy levels as they are zero just now, chronic fatigue & /or fibro taking hold.

Swimming during a run?
I’ve realised that our local wild swim (used by myself and 11 year old) is a nice 3km run away from the car park. Would running (and the accompanying heat/sweat) then going for a cold swim be dangerous in any way? There will be an inevitable 10 minute cool down for changing clothes. Quick dip then re

W8R3. A toughie!
I’d had 2 rest days, went
swimming
yesterday, drank gallons of water, pasta for tea. I was ready. I was raring to go! But the weather had other ideas. It was HOT!

Jersey Parkrun
I 'm in Jersey this week, no runs yet but have been
swimming
in the hotel pool. Thinking about doing Parkrun on Saturday, I looked at the webpage and know where it is. Has anyone done it?

Love this!
It's so relaxing for the mind whilst working the body, which is why I love
swimming
. Great to know I can get the same elsewhere. Wish I'd started this journey years ago.

Even though I went
swimming
twice, all the unhealthy eating patterns came flooding back. It was actually frightening how deeply ingrained the patterns of shopping for unhealthy food and staying up too late were.

Anyway, if I can run for 20 mins after a heavy night, and a crap week, in knackered trainers, an old work tee shirt and
swimming
shorts, then anyone can.

New Diagnosis.. ends years of frustration.. can anyone help on PIP
I hit the
swimming
pool, and through aqua-aerobics was back on my feet... Something I have maintained doing through the years. Though my gait is different again... and sciatica still a constant. 9 months post-op, back on the golf course, with a new swing that at least meant I could still play.

Not sure what's going on with these short runs ; & a spot of new lycra cheap off eBay (not sure if it suits me really):
It's like throwing yourself straight into the
swimming
pool (which I always do BTW), and reminds me that the cold winter runs are not that far away - give me the heat any day. This run took me out along the Burford Road.

And so, a milestone achieved
The Atlantic is far too cold for
swimming
right now, and this stretch of beach is kind of dangerous - even for very strong swimmers. So I may not get to swim this water this year. I don't want to put anyone else in danger trying to come get me. But oh, watch out! Next year I just might make it!

Confused and frustrated
Im used to hiking and open water
swimming
and such like. I have two lovely horses to ride, and two dogs and i can barely get down the road today to walk them. If anyone has any advice on training I would be very grateful..

I have been
swimming
today and seemed to have twisted awkwardly. I don’t know if I should go to my doctor or let it settle. I swim regularly and this has not happened before. Recently my filtration has gone down to 39. I’m a little worried.

Running with my children - this makes me really happy.
A little different to my usual workout in that we did
swimming
arms while running, skipped and danced at times and did a stretch called "chicken wings," but this is what it's all about. My own week 9 run 2 was very boring in comparison.

A run and a swim in a Swedish lake
(Easy now - we wore
swimming
costumes) I cannot express how amazing the cool forest lake water felt. It was the best running reward ever. I floated around until my legs were ready to work again.

But like I have said before what goes up must come down so that brings me nicely to the down bit which is steep so had to slow pace down a bit and then I cross “Slutty Bridge” yes folks that’s what it’s called this lovely little bridge with stream running underneath, with some lovely fish 🐟
