Just be prepared to get addicted to running!

The hardest step of the entire programme is walking through the door or stepping up onto the treadmill for the first run.

I hope you enjoy it and get as much satisfaction from it as I have.

Well done Wagshaz for setting off on your journey. I set out 10 weeks ago, i was fairly unfit, needed to lose weight and sort my life out. No matter how hard you find it at first weve all been there, i struggled at first with breathing but cracked it last week. Best advice given to me was go as slow as you can, it worked for me, get some motivating music that will play while laura gives you advice. Listen to advice on this platform as there are great tips and people who have been through every expeirence relative to running. Ive lost weight as have many im sure, believe in yourself and best of luck, go for it.

The go slow advice is the best to take. It gives you such a high afterwards completing a session. Keep us all posted on your progress.

Just to reiterate - go slow. I was struggling and joined this forum for support. The first thing I was told was to slow down. Once I did, the runs became easier and I'm finding it much easier.

Great feeling once you finish your first run. Best of luck and keep connected!

Make it routine. Take it slow and smile every run. Most importantly enjoy. πŸ€

I'd say, don't wait for the right time, day, temperature, whether the sun is shining, raining or not....just go, it's the best thing you can do for you, today. Oooh, and enjoy!

Hi πŸ‘‹

I learnt on the first minute of running on my first run that you should definitely avoid running where there is a hill. Hills destroy you.

Good luck and enjoy

Hi I’ve just completed w5r1 having never ran in my life. I’m a 53yr overweight female and stunned how much I am enjoying getting out there. Like everyone says just take it real slow and enjoy the sense of achievement - oh and keep posting

Yes, slow and steady ( can you spot a theme here?!) and I found lots of deep slow breaths during my warm up walk really helped. Good luck, you’ll love it!

Welcome! Post here often, let us motivate, encourage, cajole you along the way. Run very slowly... C25K is not about distance (despite the '5k' name) but all about time. The aim of the program is to run for 30 minutes, three times a week. For some that may be 5km, but it is not for most.
