In preparation for my w9r3 and being someone who loves to shop yesterday I purchased a proper running vest so at least I’d look the part.
Then at 8:15 this morning absolutely looking like a bonafide runner in my coral running vest I set off in the sunshine along the canal.
And I managed my best run ever covering 4.8km. My running vest and me are ecstatic. I can’t quite believe I’ve done it.
When I started the program my hubby said “you’ll never do it, you’re not built for running” which made me more determined. I am on the “curvier” side but in the 9 weeks have lost 14lb but importantly I’m fitter, more toned, have dropped 2 dress sizes and really feel in control. I well and truly have my mo-jo back.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me, including my husband who despite his doubts really has cheered me on.
Along with swimming which has always been my thing running is now also my thing.
If someone like me who is “not built for running” can complete this great program then everyone can - to all those who read this post - please trust the program, stick at it and you too can become a bonafide runner (with or without a coral running vest).

I intend to keep on running; my sister runs and is trying to persuade me to train for a 10k. I’m quite content to run 5k at the moment and have agreed to do a 5k park run with her in July. Thanks for the link and advice.
Fabulous, I am so pleased for you and losing all that weight too - you've done amazingly well and this is just the beginning! I'm not built for running either, but we damn well can and it feels fantastic! Many congratulations
Thank you - I used to struggle to walk a couple of miles and now I can run over 3 - it’s truly a remarkable program and I’ve encouraged a few people to do it; my sons on week 3 and I look forward to seeing him progress and to the day we run 5k together 😃
Go for it - my sister is a very good runner and has encouraged me at every stage. She got me a pandora charm with a running shoe on as a well done. I was quite emotional 😭
Absolutely not - no more fading into the background for me. I’m shouting c25k all the way, in fact every person I saw on the canal path this morning as I passed them I shouted “couch to 5k” - just in case they wondered what on earth I was up to!
Well done!!!!! I’m not sure who is built to run - definitely not me - seems we come in all shapes & sizes - and long may it continue. I hope you & your best enjoy many future runs together ......👏👍😊
