Does anyone find swimming a problem for your skin with lupus? Its a preferred exercise for mental well being, but concerned chlorine will aggregate rash on arms face and in ears.

I too am back in the swimming pool after not having swum for years . Really enjoying it actually and it feels good to belong to a “gym”! I have achieved 40 lengths already (which is over half a mile ) so I’m pretty pleased with myself !

hello ! I had my surgery on the 14th Sep, I have 6/7 incision wounds which are healing nicely. The hospital didn’t advise me on when I can swim again, was anyone told when they could ? Thank you ! xx

I now want to take it up a level and as the local pool is at the end of my road I am thinking of doing a daily swim in the morning before work (maybe an hour of moderate Lane swimming but would work up to that gradually).

Does anyone have experience of swimming for fitness in his situation or advice or sources of advice? Thanks

We went swimming at Baby Beach. We later went swimming in the Conchi natural swimming pool at Arikok National Park. I got a few bites on my legs at some point that I noticed after the Conchi swimming pool.

Theres winter outdoor swimming near me, I wondered about trying it .... I love swimming but usually in the warm. Sorry if silly question, I am realising that I dont know much physiology ....

However, my oncologist advised against swimming atall during treatment due to the significant risk of infection and the possible impact of chemicals from pools on the skin, and definitely not hot tubs and saunas, not that I use either of these.

When PMR. hit I went from aerobic land exercise to swimming 60. Lengths front crawl every second day. It feels very good on my body. That being said swimming is not weight bearing and thinking of starting again some free weight and machine exercises for my bones.

Hello, I’m just wondering if any fellow IBS suffers have tried open water /wild swimming for help with chronic pain issues associated with IBS ?

My 6 yr old son loves swimming. We have had him on Vyvanse for 3 mos and Intuniv for 1 month. He used to love swimming. We have him in lessons at the same place he has always taken them and now he just sits on the wall and refuses to participate.

Over the past 10 years I’ve been an active outdoor swimmer sea swimming through the winter without a wet suit and taking part in two English Channel relay swims. I’m keen to know if anyone with an ICD fitted does open water swimming still and what precautions they take.

Doctors suggested once the stapler started falling automatically swimming ring type swelling will come down. I am worried that about staplers not falling and swimming ring swelling. Please if anyone have gone through this kindly suggest. Thanking you in advance.

I've been doing Organ imagery as I'm swimming. This really seems to help with my coordination strength, each of movement and efficiency.

Hello. I’ve had Preserflo microshunt surgery in both eyes this year - left eye in April, right eye in July. I’d like to get back to aqua jogging in my local pool. Because of the setup there I have to fully submerge my head to get in and out. Has anyone else returned to the pool after the same surgery

As I'm retirement age I can join my local gym at a cheaper rate where I can access pilates and swimming. I do find that exercise helps but it was costing me a fortune to go swimming and attend pilates classes.

I have been circuit training once a week (started 8 weeks ago)and been cold water swimming about 3 years, I really love the swimming in the sea and don’t want to stop, but reading the comments here now has me worried. I am so new to this.

Yesterday was a good day all round from seeing my manager to staff and residents, but today I feel dizzy and head swimming and just want to sleep ,why can't this thing give me a break even a couple of days .

My neurologist told me swimming should not decrease the efficacy of the patch. During this period I experienced no RLS symptoms. However, after 3 weeks, one morning I woke up with severe burning in my left ankle. This type of pain was common but much worse when I was augmenting on Neupro.
