post opp scar pain

I had bypass surgery in November I have pain in scar when I exercise or move and when I am sitting is this part of having the surgery my Doctor says it part of the operation can anyone shed some light on this ??

not going to be any help but 18 weeks post surgery and I get a lot of discomfort in mine too. Feels tight and like I need to stretch it constantly (which I can’t of course).

Hi Wargame, I also had a triple cabg in November and also get discomfort in the sternum area. It is not consistent and I get days without noticing it and others where I’m feeling it most of the day. I’ve been told that it’s nerve damage repair and normal. A friend of mine who also had the same procedure said it lasted 2 years. I’m just grateful that I had the op and I’m generally back to normal now.

I didn't have a bypass, but a valve repair end Dec, then ICD implanted end of April...I get pains most days, varying in severity...am told nerve damage and it can last months...so just have to grin and bear it ( along with the paracetamol and itching they seems to be triggered by my meds)...
