Hi this is for people who have had to get a dental clearance form, did you have to pick it up or did the dentist send it? I’ve to pick mine up but I thought she would just send it thanks
edit* this is the first time I heard of the form as well it’s if you are being considered for surgery they need to make sure there is nothing wrong with your teeth if there is I think they need that sorted first before the surgery

Hi this is the first time I’ve been asked for it as well my doctor is considering me for valve replacement surgery and he wants to make sure there’s no issues with my teeth I think it’s because of bacteria if I have problems with my teeth they will need to be sorted before surgery

My dentist sent an email to the heart surgeon's secretary and she confirmed she'd received it to me by email also. No set form was involved and the dentist was familiar with the requirements. Hope this helps 🙏 ☺
After telling my dentist that I have an LBBB she wrote to the Cardio dept where I was diagnosed and confirmed with them that it was OK to have the normal anesthetic that contained adrenaline for a procedure. She may have sent a form but if so I did not see it. The Cardio dept sent a letter in reply to her and a copy to me that it was OK for me with my condition.
they ask this because of the risk of transmission of infection to the heart - any bacteria from an oral/dental infection can easily get into the bloodstream from invasive dental work, it is then a short trip back to the heart and the usual control mechanisms don't get much chance to get to work en route
Hi before you have op you must have the dentist confirm no problems eith teeth afterwards you will need antibiotics before any dental work involving making your teeth bleed as any infection getting into your bloodstream from your teeth could make you extremely ill
