mega dose steroids for Thyroid eye disease
My daughter has been told her TED warrants three mega steroid injections, given in an eye hospital over three days. Internet info on mega steroid injections are scary. No doubt my daughter needs some urgent help with her eyes - has anyone any experience that might help us through this? Many thanks

Hot, red, itchy palms at a flare.
I know lots of you have the awful itching all over. I am lucky it is not too troublesome but when the biliary pain is surfacing badly again I get really hot, blotchy red itchy palms and sometimes soles of feet also. I am on five 250mg Ursofalk a day and also prednisalone and am due a top up steroid injection

Gluten, dairy and probiotics
Hi. I wondered if anyone else had had positive (or negative) results with changes of diet and with probiotics. Having done loads of research when my daughter was first diagnosed last year, there seems to be growing evidence (although not yet the 'proof' needed for medical acceptance) of a connection

GP Campaign (the second assault)
Right!! Dusted down, organised (for once), and determined (if not for a diagnosis, then at least some treatment). Tomorrow I am off to the GP, to try to force his hand to refer me to the renowned Dr D Cruz. The first assault took the form of a 3 month health diary to throw some light on my symptoms

It seems after ignoring pain in my ankle for about 8 weeks and then going to GP and having steroid injection that didn't work, I have developed peroneal tenosynivitis. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am currently doing home TENs machine and ultrasound but have booked in for a physio appt

Methotrexate not working so what next?
Hi everyone as the title says my Methotrexate meds don't seem to be working. I currently take 6 tablets a week and I started taking them in February this year . I am still in a lot of pain I have immense fatigue and feel miserable. I am living off pain killers. Even the steroid injection only worked

Hi all. I have this numb and stiff feeling every morning in both of mine hands. Two years ago I had steroid injection for carpal tunnel on one hand. But I knew it was CT as I couldn't hold a plate or open a door. But now it doesn't feel the same way. The pain is even in my pinkies. So I'm cofused and

Article About Steroid Injections is Informative
The article here is short and sweet. Enjoy http://www.orthoontheweb.com/pdfs/about_cortisone_injections.pdf I found it to be a good read because I do get injections from time to time on my "good knee" - the other has been replaced due to sport injury.. best thing ever to have it replaced. I am so

Pain and Parkinsons
A couple if years I submitted a question on Pain and Parkinsons. Since that time my pain has increased. I am not able to link it definitely to my Parkinsons, but I am pretty sure it is. I have six monthly injections in my spine and also steroid injections in my knees. I know other people suffer intense

Miserable
After being diagnosed with RA in October last year, was put on Methotrexate it was gradually increased to 25mg weekly and then sulfasalazine was then put in, my liver enzymes had increased also and had reached 100 at one point so was taken off everything to let things settle, liver went back to normal

Does any one have carpal tunnel as well? I'm having steroid injections into my hand next week sounds painful but if it works then that's one less thing to put up with. I'm having a low day wish I had a friend I could talk to. I'm lying in bed with my dogs, hope I find a friend or two on this. Sweet pee
