Steroid injections and gabapentin for pain
I am curious about steroid injections I have never been given the option from my rheumatologist, I am currently on oral prednisone, is that the same ? I have had to go to the hospital when I have bad flares and I was given through a iv which I think was a steroid, and it helped tremendously! Currently

Arthritis and yoga
Hello everyone! I'm back on HCQ on a lower dose now (200mg/day) after I had to stop because of the side effects before. So far it seems not much in the way of side effects (yet), so fingers crossed it'll help this time. My other half suggested a while ago that he read yoga could be beneficial for arthritis

Confused and upset
Had a hospital visit yesterday with my rheumy nurse, has now been 4 weeks since starting the mtx. I have been struggling again with pain and stiffness in both knees but more so the left one as usual. Have previously had a steroid injection in this one which did help for a few months but has worn off

Epidural steroid injection
Today I had my first Cervical Epidural Steroid Injection. I did fine after and most of the rest of the day. Now I'm in pain and my muscles are even more tense than the usual rock-like feel. My meds aren't helpin and neither is ice. I know they said it can take a few days to feel the effects, but I don't

Rash on face could it be the methertrexate
I have been diagnosed with adult onset stills disease last December and have been on methertrexate 20 mg injection and previously had steroids 40 mg, steroid injections in joints and a steroid drip before being let loose from hospital. Don't know if anyone can help or as had similar experience since

Fluid on knee - update
Hi, well I saw my Rheumy Specialist Nurse yesterday hoping she would drain the fluid from my knee. We had a good talk about how I have been feeling and she did the check of my joints. She agreed that the Sulfasalazine is not controlling the inflammation adequately enough and went to speak with the Consultant

Dreams
Hi all, just coming out the other side of a nasty flare up, thanks to a steroid injection from my lovely doctor, and was thinking back about my dreams. During my flare up my dreams got very dark and horrible and was wondering if it is connected or normal for this to happen , or whether it is just coincidence

A question for the ladies
Hi ladies- I was looking for some advice really and to find out if this has happened to any of you? I had a steroid injection in my hip 6 weeks ago and since then my periods have been unusual. In that I mean one was short only lasting a few days and this one has went on for 14 days +. My GP is not particularly

What's the deal with trochanteric bursitis?
Quite a few people have mentioned trochanteric bursitis recently. I'm doing fine really, overall. My joints are no longer swollen, my mobility's good and I usually feel okay. But these days I tend to get all these 'little' added extras including trochanteric bursitis. My rheumy covered all bases

Refusing To Take Steroids
Not so long ago I wrote a post about being prescribed steroids and my fear of them. I'll explain how I got to this point......I was diagnosed 4 years ago and after about 18 months of using the usual Salfa and MTX I was taken off them due to complications with my liver. After another 9 months waiting

Flare-ups and Medication
Hi All I read all of your comments daily and send daily hugs to you all who suffer a lot more than I do. However, I rarely comment as I am a newby and have no real experience to pass on. As a newby, I had three steroid injections in my hands (one in October 2014 and 2 more in December 2014) and have

Diagnosis of FMS
I now know I have had Fibromyalgia for the last two years as everything now makes sense. I initially went to my docs with extreme back and joint pain. She then referred me to a Rheumatologist who did his relevant tests, found nothing so referred me to an orthopaedic surgeon. He crossed off every other

Hi just had a diagnosis of seronegative ra. I've had pain & tiredness for 40 years( I'm 53) but only when I've really pushed for a diagnosis by going privately, have I finally got a diagnosis. Also got fibromyalgia, OA and APS. I was told by a rheumy 2 years ago that it was "just" fibromyalgia but was

Joint pain with locking and cracking
For quite a few years now my joints have been painful and achy, they then started to 'lock' and I have to make them 'track's in order to briefly relieve the pain. It started I think in my knees but it affects my elbows, hips, wrists, fingers, thumbs and shoulder - I was seen by a consultant who operated

Trochanteric bursitis
Morning I've had steroid injections last Wednesday in my hip as I can barely walk, been told it's like magic but unfortunately it's not been. It's made no difference whatsoever. This has disabled me totally. Has anyone else had this & how long did it take to recover? Did anyone need surgery? Any advice
