Does any one have carpal tunnel as well? I'm having steroid injections into my hand next week sounds painful but if it works then that's one less thing to put up with.
I'm having a low day wish I had a friend I could talk to. I'm lying in bed with my dogs, hope I find a friend or two on this.

Hello sweetpea i am sure that you will find friends on this site to chat with. why not pop in to Gins coffee morning to break the ice.
I have had my right hand operated on but still have a touch of it in my left hand.
My palm of my right hand is very sensitive and find that even the corners of the toothpaste tube hurts. But much better than it was.
Hi, I had my two hands operated on at once, I found it very hard for a few weeks but it certainly worked for me, but my scar on the right hand is still sore if I catch it on a corner or anything sharp, but as for the operation I found it done the trick and I would also have the two hands done at the same time again. I found that it was worthwhile putting up with the inconvenience of day to day things but I have two wonderful children and husband who cared and helped me, but that was 25years ago. I wish you all pain free days.
hello Poppy-poppy.how on earth did manage with both hands done at the same time?now thye do each hand separately.i couldn't do anything for a couple of days and even had to have my food cut up for me.i wish Id left the dressings on for a bit longer than they suggested.i don't think mine has been successful as twinges of pain returning.dont want to have my right hand done although the consultant said I need to.not if it isn't going to work
hello sweetpee.i had the steroid injection in my left wrist,it didn't hurt/sting at all.my gp marked out on my wrist where he was to inject.it was wonderful to be pain free but it only lasted a couple of weeks.so I had the op on my left wrist back in march and 6 weeks on I am getting twinges of pain back ,so don't think its 100% successful.
Hi I have been tested for carpal tunnel but it came back ok, so the Dr has put my pain in my hands to fibro, even those my symptoms are near enough the same. Hope you get some relief from the injections take care.
I am so sorry to read that you have carpel tunnel syndrome, and I genuinely hope that you can find some relief and resolution to this issue. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

I am sorry you feel low. CTS is really debilitating and can affect your mood. I have it badly in my right hand. I had it undiagnosed for years, and have never damage as well.
I had surgery in November last year. This was to save my hand rather than cure it. The surgery went well, but I have severe FMS with muscle spasms and that has hindered the healing. My scar did get infected and burst, but now it has healed fairly well. I ended up with terrible scar tissue. I had to do work on it to stop it getting worse and am on morphine now. The morphine is the only thing that allows me to use my hand. Without it, I am in too much pain to move it.
but I must stress, that my CTS was really bad by the time it was diagnosed and I could not even hold a pen. And I am right handed. I also have nerve damage.
A couple of friends of mine had the surgery with no complications and found that they have regained full use of their hands. For abut 60% of people this is the best option. About 40% may have some complications or a longer recovery period. Usually it does get somewhat better.
On a positive note, I can write a small amount now, easier with a fountain pen than a biro, but I still do not have much strength in it.
I hope you feel better soon and can get some relief. People without the problem cannot understand how life limiting it can be.
