Failed synacthen test
Hello everyone, I have been on various doses of prednisolone since diagnosis 20 years ago. Even though I'm on cellcept and plaquenil I have never managed to get completely off the steroids, just recently I got down to 3mg daily but bloods started going a bit haywire. My rheumy then did a synacthen

Hi all, I was diagnosed with RA in late April this year and I'm now on Methotrexate, Hydroxychloroquine, Sulfasalazine, and Naproxen with Tramadol/Co-codamol for pain relief. I had a steroid injection (in my backside) in April which is now wearing off and the flare is coming back. My RA is in both hands

Struggling with it all
Hi, I'm really struggling with lots of aspects of my RA, I have been really lucky with a relatively quick diagnosis because it was so bad at Christmas! I was in agony by the time I saw the consultant I was really bad and they gave me a steroid injection which was great and then another! I was off work

Just got to keep going.....
I've not been on here for a while as I've been so ill with pain and disability. Abatacept plus MTX was working great for me earlier on in the year. I had a throat infection for a short while, stopped meds for a couple of weeks. But in that time the RD just went mental and refused to be kicked back down

drug mix danger
Been on Indometacin, salphaselazin and omneprazole ( excuse spelling) for a 18 months now and consultant has just put me on methotrexate as no real pain relief with current mix. Confused over whether I should continue with just Metho and ditch the rest or what? Got cough cannot shift, had chest X-Ray

Hi everyone Diagnosed with symmetrical rheumatoid arthritis 4 weeks ago, I was prescribed Methotrexate, Hydroxychloroquine and Sulfasalazine with Omeprazole and Naproxen, and had a steroid injection in my bum. Muscle and joint problems
Does anyone know if those on epilepsy medication are more susceptible to muscle and joint problems? I have been on meds for 8 years In the last 2/3 years alone I have had AC joint & rotator cuff injury to my shoulder from a simple knock. I had to recieve a steriod injection into my left hip for bursitis

mega dose steroids for Thyroid eye disease
My daughter has been told her TED warrants three mega steroid injections, given in an eye hospital over three days. Internet info on mega steroid injections are scary. No doubt my daughter needs some urgent help with her eyes - has anyone any experience that might help us through this? Many thanks

Hot, red, itchy palms at a flare.
I know lots of you have the awful itching all over. I am lucky it is not too troublesome but when the biliary pain is surfacing badly again I get really hot, blotchy red itchy palms and sometimes soles of feet also. I am on five 250mg Ursofalk a day and also prednisalone and am due a top up steroid injection

Gluten, dairy and probiotics
Hi. I wondered if anyone else had had positive (or negative) results with changes of diet and with probiotics. Having done loads of research when my daughter was first diagnosed last year, there seems to be growing evidence (although not yet the 'proof' needed for medical acceptance) of a connection

GP Campaign (the second assault)
Right!! Dusted down, organised (for once), and determined (if not for a diagnosis, then at least some treatment). Tomorrow I am off to the GP, to try to force his hand to refer me to the renowned Dr D Cruz. The first assault took the form of a 3 month health diary to throw some light on my symptoms
