Given in to another course of prednisolone 😔
Morning peeps 😎 Unfortunately, after being giving more steroid injections (in my backside) over 2 weeks ago, I've had to start yet another course of prednisolone. Again, they haven't worked for me- I wish my consultant didn't keep insisting on giving them to me. It was becoming so difficult to walk

No diagnosis just sadness and frustration. new to this site
Hi I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on what I should do next. I have had pain in wrists and ankles on and off for 8 years. Saw rheumatologist who said it was non degenerative and I should swim. Eye pain and blurred visionwass investigated and had no cause. I have reactive lymph nodes which

Adrenal test
Hello wonderful people. My question today is should I get an adrenal test done? I've been doing quite well on an increased dose of levo, & actually felt good for once. I have continuing problems with pain in my shoulder, which had gotten a little better following a steroid injection & physio. But for

Cortisone injection
So I'm wondering what sort of response anyone has to extra-articular steroid injection. I had an acute bout of bursitis a few weeks back. I had an injection ( not in the joint) of depomedrol and lidocaine. I had so little change in my pain level that I went to ER. Toradol injection, naproxen and a sling

Week 2 Run 2 done - worth waiting for!
Hurrah! I have finally done the second run of the week - 6 days after the first. I had a lovely weekend with my parents, but got back a bit late to run last night. So today I was trying to decide whether to run tomorrow (when I am hoping not to have to go into work) or just go for it today. In the

Well it's official, I have lupus. She looked at my history and previous medical tests taken earlier this year. Had a steroid injection in my butt cheek (ouch), and got prescribed hydroxychloroquine sulphate tablets, but I can't start taking those til eye consultant sees me in October and gives the go

Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia and Steroid Injections
Hi all. I've just joined this site as yesterday I was diagnosed with FFA. My dermatologist gave me steroid injections and then some cream for my eyebrows. He said it was very rare because I'm a 35 yr old man. Since reading up on it I'm now concerned that the steroid injections may do more harm than good

Countdown to Week 2 Run 1 has commenced...
... Should have started by now, but annoyingly, I don't think my breakfast has settled yet. However running kit is out ready so I can get out the door in the next 15 minutes or so. Spurred on by the fact that I am due at the optician at 9.30am so need to get out, back, showered and out again in the

Not well at all friends......
For the last few months I have been weened off Prednisolone by my Rheumy nurse. I'm going on Gold injections in September. When I got to August I was only taking 1mg per day. I have noticed a lot more pain in my knees, hands, shoulders and neck. Then on Friday morning I know before I even tried to get

Week 1 completed!
Yay! Still felt OK, no side effects from run 2 and got through the final one of the week this afternoon with no problem apart from having to stop briefly because my towel fell onto the treadmill! Today was the first day I had to give myself a shove to do it, but once I got on with it, I was fine and

Week 1 run 2 completed
Just checking in with my progress report as I can already see that this will keep me motivated. Felt OK on my rest day other than a very slightly sore ankle that I noticed during the first run, but it felt fine during today's stint, so it was probably just a niggle. I did Aqua yesterday, and Pilates

Want to lose weight
Last year I lost approximately 4 stone. In December 2014 I was very tired so thought that my weight may have been the reason so I started to lose weight which came off quite easily without too much effort. In January I had shingles in March developed multiple cold sores around mouth and nasal area and

Sulfasalazine added to the mix😒
Hey peeps, I went to see my rheumatologist today as an emergency case. My crp was up its highest until now at 140 so mtx isn't working! My hb has gone even further, so iron tablets aren't working yet either. She looked at my pathetic, swollen body and straight away said we need to add another dmard,

Rituximab and infections
Hello all, Am seeing my rheumatologist privately next week for a chat as I am becoming increasingly concerned about the number of infections I am experiencing whilst on rituximab therapy. I have been on rituximab now for ten years and it has proved to be a wonderful treatment for my RD of 43 years. It

I'm new here...
Have just joined and looking through the many posts, it does seem to be a great support. I have had RA for 31 years, was also diagnosed with stystemic lupus in the early years. Mostly affecting my feet, ankles hands and wrists. Had many steroid injections, plus bed rests and took daily steroids, Azathioprine
