Start sulphasalazine tomorrow.
I am to start sulphasalazine 500 mg tomorrow and just need some positive feedback from people taking it. I am reading so many bad reviews. I am also to have a steroid injection in my buttock tomorrow. Does this hurt? How long before i feel any relief? I know i should have asked my rheumy nurse on wednesday

MEDICATION NOT WORKING EFFICIENTLY
Over the last couple of weeks my meds have been taking forever to kick in and then have gone off early. I take Stalevo, Requip and half Sinemet for Parkinsons and other meds for different problems. I am beginning to wonder if these meds are working against each other. Is this possible? Last weekend

Is it Lupus?
After six years of being treated for lupus a new rheumatologist said "to say it's lupus is stretching it"! I then asked if he was saying I didn't have lupus? He replied "well I'm not saying that". Well what are you saying??? I asked him to explain my blood results, he couldn't. I asked him why I had

The chaos continues............
I have yet another herniated disc, the L5 this time and because I am on anticoagulants there is no treatment i.e. steroid injection to reduce the inflammation. 6 to 8 weeks and hope for the best. He said massage may help but who has the time or money for that and I hate people touching me so it would

Alopecia Areata
You may already be aware of the details/publicity in the link below, but just in case I thought I'd post. I am also a member of Thyroiduk.org but today I was listening to the Radio this morning LBC and it was about a 'cure' for Alopecia. Apparently they say there is a 'cure' so I'll give the link below

Radiotherapy treatment for chronic tendonitis?
Hello, I've got arthritis and have also been living with recurrent hip tendonitis, shoulder bursitis, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis and hand joint pain. I've been seen by a rheumatologist as I thought they may be connected but the blood tests didn't pick up anything. I have found the tendonitis

Swollen knees back almost as bad as ever.
Some of you may remember I have had fluid taken from my knees and had steroid injections twice. they worked the first time but it is only three weeks since i had them done again and my knees are swollen. I had hoped my Benapali or Etanercept (It has both names on the box) would be working and would

How long for hydroxychloroquine?
I have just been diagnosed and given a steroid injection. I have started hydroxychloroquine but I gather that it doesn't work straight away. Will the steroid wear off and it all come back until the hydroxychloroquine starts working? I am worried as I felt so awful and it feels so amazing to feel normal

Full of despair
I start my hydroxychloroquine in middle of October once eye consultant has checked my eyes. Steroid injection wore off last week ( it was my first one when diagnosed 19 August). Been plodding along since then. Today been to gp, given antibiotics for abscess. Plus given fluoxetine as I'm so low, keep

Rituximab - Its working :)
Just wanted to share my experience for anyone that is about to start on Rituximab...I had my first infusions in April, 2 weeks apart and felt so ill for 2 weeks after each one. Migraines and botox
Hi all, how are you going with Botox injections? I started March 2015 and it's been really good. Took 6 months to really kick in bit then had good control with a few major relapses. Had 6 weeks of migraines after all night flight from Asia. Then steroid injections and that settled again. Often at end

Steroid injections
I have been dealing with a sore shoulder and arm pain on one side for 3 months. Was diagnosed by dr as tendonitis. But as I was seeing no improvement I went to an ortho dr this week who disagreed with what I had been previously been told. He suspects that it is PMR although he hasn't seen it much. He

Newbie ~ Advice Please
Last year I had a sudden onset of reactive arthritis which lasted 9 weeks and spontaneously stopped. 16 weeks ago I got food poisoning from a piece of chicken and have had much more severe reactive pains in at least 10 different joints. It flits around my body on a 24-hour cycle. Today my hip is sore

Almost certain I have depression.
It's just been too much. It's not just the pain, it's the stress of having to ask, beg, chase and nag for just about everything. I feel I am being judged harshly whatever I do. There are some people on here who seem to be very sure they are best placed to tell me that I am making the wrong choices and

Can't get any help. Should I go to A & E? Am I just a big nuisance to everyone?
About two weeks ago, I had a really bad flare-up. Years of RA has left me with damage and a certain level of pain all the time, but this was really off the scale. I had to beg my GP receptionist for an appointment for the following day. They have a policy of only giving appointments at 8.30 for the same
