Shoulder issues and PMR
I have been struggling away with shoulder issues for a couple of months now and find it is really getting me down. After my initial pmr diagnosis back in April I reduced too quickly and suffered the inevitable flare. Back to 17mg in Septemebr and on the gradual reduction now. All pretty good until severe

Sulfasalasine
Hi all. As you probably remember, i was diagnosed with ra in august, and started 500 mg sulfasalasine daily, increasing by 500 mg daily each week to maximum of 4x500mg tablets daily in september. I was also prescribed a steroid injection and, as that gave no relief a 3 week course of prednisone tablets

Back to methotrexate...which I'm allergic to?!?!
So since my hospital admission in July I've been off all ra drugs, I can tell you it's not been easy. After all the issues with my lungs and how every drug has given me the worst of its side effects I really believed in myself that I would go into my future without anymore ra drugs, that I would just

Physio for knee pain. How quick will it improve the pain?
Hi. Sorry for the long post. I injured my knee nearly 5 months ago. After many visits to the doctor and walk in centre, have been given various pain killers and a steroid injection. I was finally referred to hospital by a doctor who examined me and said he was 100% sure that there was some loose cartilage

Hair - A bit shallow, I know. What can I do?
I'm having problems with my hair. I lost a very large patch last year, and although it is growing back quickly, it is growing back almost jet black. I am losing other patched of hair, but much less severely. It's going in my hairline at the front and has thinned significantly at the back. I usually

fibro related post.
I met my doctor today and he said all my symtoms are fibro related and I told him I was against steroid pills and he agreed that I did not need steroids. I have had elbow steroid injections that helped for a while but it didn't last long.

B12 deficient but could I have underactive thyroid too?
Last March I went to the GP with muscle pain in hands, neck and back. Initially told I had sciatica. Took the naproxen but still didn't improve. Returned to GP who did a blood test and my B12 returned at 87, which is very low. I had been having symptoms of B12 deficiency such as fatigue, brain fog etc

Steroid injections
I saw my GP yesterday and I asked her about the steroid injection I had and how long they last and she said the same thing as a lot of people have said ( how long is a piece of string) but she did reassure me that I could have another one after 3 months and could have one every 3 months indefinitely,

Is this flare pattern normal?
I know everyone's disease is different, but I'm wondering if anyone has the same kind of flares as me. I have episodes, usually about a week long, of terrible, disabling exhaustion with incredibly heavy limbs. This means I walk at the speed of a 90 year old and struggle to stay upright eg when I sit

I am new .. to this arena but have been fighting RA for the past 5 1/2 years - for my daughter who was diagnosed around 10 years old. We have refused to put her on biologics and tried every other method - changed her diet, tried acupuncture, sought alternative medicine ... all because we didn't want
