I have recently had steroid injections for my back pain and was told it impacts my blood counts, anyone familiar with this? How long does the impact last?

Steroid injections
I saw my GP yesterday and I asked her about the steroid injection I had and how long they last and she said the same thing as a lot of people have said ( how long is a piece of string) but she did reassure me that I could have another one after 3 months and could have one every 3 months indefinitely,

Is this flare pattern normal?
I know everyone's disease is different, but I'm wondering if anyone has the same kind of flares as me. I have episodes, usually about a week long, of terrible, disabling exhaustion with incredibly heavy limbs. This means I walk at the speed of a 90 year old and struggle to stay upright eg when I sit

Steroid injection for Hip pain
Has anyone had a steroid injection in their hip for pelvic pain? I have a procedure tomorrow but I wasn't given much information on it. Just wanted to know if there were any side effects and if it worked. X

I am new .. to this arena but have been fighting RA for the past 5 1/2 years - for my daughter who was diagnosed around 10 years old. We have refused to put her on biologics and tried every other method - changed her diet, tried acupuncture, sought alternative medicine ... all because we didn't want

Tramadol
I had been on tramadol for 15 years until recently, my doctor didn't like the idea of me being on them for so long and decided to take me off them, I have recently had very bad pain in my lower back and an MRI showed that I have 2 prolapsed discs and spondylitis in my neck and spine, and also degeneration

Hi everyone, I have finally had the results of my MRI it states I have spondylitis in my neck and spine, plus 2 bulging discs, I was given an injection of a steroid which I must admit has done wonders for my pain, does anyone know how long these injections last before I will need another? I also have

New to all this....Advice?
Hi all, I'm going to try to be really to the point behind this because my intentions are very specific. Long before I really knew my wife she was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis and did everything she could at managing and battling it with the GP she had, it's only since we got together and recently

Collapsed disks in spine.
I have 2 collapsed disks in my spine, after a meeting with a consultant surgeon he has suggested we try a steroid injection onto the spine, followed by injection of a cement between the disks, done under general anaesthetic which should solve the problem. If any members have had this done I would be

Starting methotrexate
So I had my 6 month check up with the rheumy today. She's totally lost knowing what to do with me - I've had to come off plaquenil again as it's just making me so sick and such bad stomach acid I just can't cope with it. All of the other treatments we've tried I seem to react to - which we now know is

Cramps
Hello all, 2.26am and I'm awake again!!! I have become a complete insomniac whether in pain or not. So quick update and a question. I had a steroid injection on my last visit to my clinic. It has helped greatly with the pain and I am able to do so much more.😊😊 However I'm back to getting what I can

epidural steroid injection
I am looking at having to begin epidural steroid injections in my neck due to nerve damage in my left arm (from my left arm being reattached just above my elbow), which has began causing shocks going up/down my arm into my neck, which is also setting off major migraines (which at time the migraines set

Severe Reaction to Hydroxychloroquine
I was diagnosed with RA in August this year. It came on so quickly and aggressively out of the blue, to the point that within 2 weeks from having painful hands, I could hardly walk or even dress myself in the morning, it was so frightening, especially as I've always been so healthy and fit (I'm 50),

Heamatologist shocked with frequency of my weekly jabs
Hi, I have just come from seeing a consultant haematologist privately who was shocked to find that my GP has prescribed weekly B12 injections. He was even more concerned when I explained that I was injecting myself... he said I could cause an infection! My GP has been very good at allowing me to trial

Lupus or Fibro?
Hi all, just wondering if anyone else has been in same situation.. I have been very ill now for over a year, but only now I am properly being looked after and having a diagnosis from consultants. Luckily enough a very good Rhumy from a NHS hospital properly looked into my case gave me more bloods and

Rituximab
Have see a locum consultant on Sunday. He told me stop taking Lefludomid straight away as my blood pressure is very high. He examined me, read my history and says I am a candidate for biological treatment. He then arranged for me to have a steroid injection. I then returned to the hospital Tuesday

Sorry I have another question
Sorry, another question. Could I ask any ladies if you notice a spike in symptoms during and after your period? I had a steroid injection around 10 days ago, and up until 2 days ago, I was feeling amazing. But during the last two days of my period, my swelling has come back, my skin has flared up

Hi I'm Tina and only recently diagnosed seronegative in May. Currently on methotrexate injections and hydroxychloroquine. Had a great summer nearly pain free and even managed to get back to the gym for gentle exercise. However since my steroid injection has worn off my pain has returned. So glad I found
