PMR without steroids
Hello. I’m Julia, 76 and diagnosed with PMR 3 years ago. Prednisolone at 15 gms stopped shoulder pain immediately but horrific side effects so had to taper straight off. Is there anybody else who cannot take steroids and how do they cope with the pain!?! I cannot take Ibuprofen as I also have a blood

Research info please!
Hi All, I’m not even sure I have Fibromyalgia but I suspect so, lots of research and having gone from being someone who can work with 5 cracked ribs and not complain very much to winging about pain daily if not hourly! Make me believe I have it. I fell over very badly about 6 years ago and since then

Off topic - Monday oh WOW
My personal thank you to the NHS. Yesterday I needed help after meds prescribed in the morning for my RA and complications gave me a horrendous reaction. Had amoxicillin over many years when needed, so no qualms in taking it when my local GP said let’s do this for a week to make sure you are safe!

Should I continue with the couch to 5km?
A few years ago I required a steroid injection into my right hip for trochanteric bursitis since then my hip has felt pretty good. Before that I was was in a lot of pain and walking with a sick. I have had the odd twinge of pain but manageable. I have a nearly 2 year old and gained a lot of baby weight

Rheumy telephone appointment earlier
As most of you know I’ve been struggling despite the steroid injections into the knees and starting Sulfasalazine. I had my follow up with my rheumatologist earlier this afternoon and the upshot is that the steroid injections lasted all of three weeks. The Sulfasalazine she was hoping would have had

Does anyone Know why certain treatments are being withheld from Shielding patients?
Why are my surgery saying that the advice they have is not to give intra-articular steroid injections to shielding patients? What has changed? I used to have these twice yearly and I have been asking; no begging for one for 3 months. I have even offered to pay!

Short term relief with Benepali?
hi there, hope everyone is safe and well. I started Benepali 11 weeks ago and it has been a life saver. However, the past week or two the pain in my joints has started to come back and I am not sure if its the Benepali not working or something else. I also have bursitis and that is excruciating. After

I had my phone call appointment with GP today. I have been trying to reduce my prednisolone from 10mg to 9 mg and a lot of my symptoms have come back. I have a very painful shoulder and hip and stiff all over if I sit too long and when I wake up in the morning. Stairs are difficult and I am back to feeling

I’m supposed to go for a steroid injection into my shoulder on Monday but I’ve heard that it lowers your immune system and am now worried about Covid. What are people’s thoughts. Thanks

Loss of taste on steroids
Back in February while in Spain I had my first ever flare up ( copd) Doctor prescribed antibiotics and steroid injection and tablets, said I was close to pneumonia. I was pretty rough with wheezing, cough, breathing etc. But never having had steroid tablets before I wasn’t sure what to expect.
