Knee pain

I have had severe knee pain for years had physio made no difference, I think I have damaged something inside it from all the falls I have had before starting on hydrochloroquine ? Spelling anyway it pops out of joint and I am getting worse not able to walk very far even with a stick,

Just wondering if anyone has had any treatment for this type of problem, don’t want to have a steroid injection, on Warfain any idea of what I could have will ask the doctor first

Thanks

My husband has a similar thing and finds tubi grip helps to support his knee. He also takes diclafenic tablets when it is really bad. he doesn't have APS but just in case this is a separate thing thought it may help.

Good Luck

Thank you unfortunately I can’t take diclafenic as I am on Warfarin, my daughter is marching me off to the doctors tomorrow so hopefully he will be able to suggest something, I think it would have to be a knee brace as it’s the leg I had a DVT in 40years ago

Topical relief is usually OKish on warfarin as the meds usually stay on site. I had to have a hip replacement and then a knee replacement and both surgeries were postponed as long as possible due to my Hughes dx and warfarin. I found that salicylic acid topical creams worked best on my knee, while the sprays worked best on my hip. And if inflammation is an issue, remember that icing is: cheap, efficient, and the only side effect is a cold wet knee,

Thank you will try that, not sure if they will operate as I have osteo necrosis due to lack of blood supply caused by APS

I think it’s a damaged ligament from one of my previous falls

Spoken to the Practice nurse about my knee, have been prescribed codine so I can have it with paracetamol as well if I want, laxatives as it makes you constipated, some ibruprofen gel (which I didn’t think you could have while on Warfarin, but I am not going to argue ) will just check my inr a bit more often,

I have been advised to buy a knee support, which is on order already and then if not improved speak with the physio so I am feeling more positive now

Daisy, if it is debilitating, ask your MD for a cortisone injection in the knee. I just received one and it was like having my old knees back. It's worth a mention. It's also quicker, cheaper, longer-lasting than any knee therapy I have had. Just sharing my experience in case it may be of help to you. Stay home, wash your hands every 2 hours, and when you must go outside, wear a mask. I'm from Illinois, US. We are a red state. Almost every state with an international airport is a red state now. Don't forget Covid is still here and we are all autoimmune compromised. Good luck.
