Week 8 of triple therapy
Good morning, I wanted to ask..... should I see a miracle at that week 12 magic number, or should I prepare myself not to feel any better? I’m awful low....been diligent in taking these meds, methotrexate, sulphasalzine, and hydroxy......pain management is shots in the butt with steroids to tide me

Last run for a couple of weeks 😭
I’m not going to stress over it ( she says secretly stressing) but I have my steroid injection this afternoon and I have been quietly hoping that this will be the Holy Grail that will sort my hip pain out for good. As the day has got nearer I have had to keep telling myself it might not!! And not to

Help! Tinnitus and MCTD Drugs
I was diagnosed with MCTD Feb 20 after starting with Raynauds, joint point and fatigue. I tried Hydroxychloriquine but it gave me tinnitus after a few weeks, so stopped taking it and months down the line, the tinnitus remains. Then at the start of Covid March time, I tried Sulfasalazine however 2 wks

Still flipping warm out there 🥵
I set my alarm for 7am, woke ten minutes before it was due to go off and then ignored it completely and lay there for another 45 minutes “ planning my run”..🙄. Eventually set off about 8.45 and it was 19 degrees and sticky by then. I’d given myself 4 days rest because A) I’d pushed myself a bit last

Query re return to work in education
Can I ask if there are any secondary teachers out there teaching in Scotland? Only asking for Scotland as we start back next week and I think rest of UK go back in September. (Correct me if I am wrong 🙈) Interesting in fellow colleagues in other parts of UK too. What do you intend to do re teaching

And that’s my 100k done for the month 😁😁🏃♀️
Well, against all odds this morning, I completed my target for the month. It wasn’t fast or pretty but I did it. When I woke this morning I was wishing I’d just carried on to 10k on Wednesday instead but my poorly tummy decided I wasn’t going to. And that poorly tummy has carried on being horrible to

My excellent Rheumatologist
On Monday I had a call from a rheummy nurse asking how I was getting on (I was on week 10 of Benepali, had to have a steroid injection 3 weeks before). I explained I was struggling, particularly in my hands and wrists. Not great as I am full time carer to my 86 year old mum. She asked what I was taking

plantar fasciitis - corticosteroid
I have had plantar fasciitis for about 12 months and in that time have had one injection of a corticosteroid in the heal of the foot. The pain is now affecting quality of life, walking the dog just causes too much pain, therefore I am trying to obtain another corticosteroid injection. My GP is concerned

Rheumatology update
Just to update in case anyone is interested, following on from previous posts. I had my consultation at London Bridge yesterday with a new rheumatologist as my previous one had left. PM me if you want to know which rheumatologist. He was very thorough, and has diagnosed me with Psoriatic Arthritis.

Atypical cases of necrotizing sweet syndrome in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myeloid leukaemia

IM steroid injection - when will it start working?
I recently got the IM depo medrone steroid injection into my left thigh to help with inflammation and pain for my possible RA. I would love to hear other people's experiences of it and the effects. It's been six days since I've had the injection, I've definitely noticed less stiffness and a bit less

Anyone with RA tried CBD oil or rub?
I have had RA for over 25 yrs, most of it on sulphasalazine which suddenly stopped working 2 years ago when I had the biggest flare. Since then I have been on methotrexate tablets and injections. Both worked well but they brought me out in so many spots on my face I looked like I had acne and didn’t

Steroids and Postmenopausal bleeding
I had a steroid shot in the knee and began bleeding about two weeks later. Had an ultrasound, now doc wants to do hysteroscopy and D & C. Is that really necessary if bleeding is caused by steroid injection? Why so little information about this problem? I was only able to find four medical articles that

Research info please!
Hi All, I’m not even sure I have Fibromyalgia but I suspect so, lots of research and having gone from being someone who can work with 5 cracked ribs and not complain very much to winging about pain daily if not hourly! Make me believe I have it. I fell over very badly about 6 years ago and since then

Off topic - Monday oh WOW
My personal thank you to the NHS. Yesterday I needed help after meds prescribed in the morning for my RA and complications gave me a horrendous reaction. Had amoxicillin over many years when needed, so no qualms in taking it when my local GP said let’s do this for a week to make sure you are safe!
