T3
I think that when I first joined this group a few years ago the general consensus was less thyroxine and a little T3 but sadly that wasn’t going to happen here in the UK. So while I was in Mexico in July I just bought it at the pharmacy (not strictly legal but anything goes in Mexico) so finally I got

Steroid injections
Hi guys, A month ago I started getting some injections on my scarline due to little keloids and tightness. I have seen some improvements so that I could even roll up the scarline over the corona of the glans (that was the intention). The previous Friday (8 days ago) after 28 days from the first ones

Cortisone injection
I had a steroid injection in my knee today which was very painful to say the least! It hasn’t started to work yet but the doctor said it could take a few hours or overnight to start working. If anyone here has had the injection can you let me know if it helped and how long it lasted. I don’t mind

Do PMR symptoms linger when you've recovered?
Are lingering symptoms of PMR normal? I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) & given sulphasalazine, (I'm allergic to methotrexate), which took the edge off the pain. I realised my symptoms were not RA and after an internet search found PMR, tested positive, but consultant maintained I'd got

Plantar Fasciitis
I suffered from plantar fasciitis a couple of years ago which was relieved by steroid injection. I was wondering if there is a definite link to hypothyroidism as I’ve noticed other sufferers have mentioned it on this forum. , If there is a link, the question is , why should this be?

Fed up and limping around trying to walk my dog on a crutch!
Barnaby2 Hi there-well I am still not completely diagnosed. In January the GP thought that I had PMR and was put on Prednisolone. The pain got a lot better until gradually reducing to 9mg in July. A different GP as I had complained that all the pains were coming back asked for advice from a Rheumatologist

Random flares - what painkillers really work?
I’ve had RA since 1998 and suffered quite a lot of joint damage in the early years, but since biologics came along, my life was transformed.I belong to a walking group, love gardening and cycle whenever we can find safe routes. Very occasionally I have flares which usually get better after a day or

I’m new here
Morning everyone, I was recently diagnosed with Seropositive RA, i was given a short course of steroids for a month, which worked at the time but soon after the course was finished I had another flare. The rheumatologist has recommended 15mg of MTX which apparently takes 6 weeks to get into the system

Help : I have developed considerable pain on the underside of my right heel bone . It feels like major bruising but I haven’t fallen?
I suffer with arthritis in my hands mainly but this is a new development ( three weeks) and does not seem to improve whether I rest it or try to walk through the pain. Would a steroid injection help or what would people suggest please , I have to walk my dog every day and it’s becoming increasingly

Knee flare for a month...
Hello, Hope everybody's well. I've been in a flare with my knee for a month now, feels like the swellings never going to go down. How long do flares last usually? I've put off ringing rhumatology as I usually have a steroid injection when bad but it then it messes with my periods and causes another

Nerve burning
Hi all! I’ve been under the pain management for a few years now. I’ve had one lot of steroid injections in my back but now they won’t do another round for some reason. They have recommended nerve burning which I am apprehensive about. Has anyone had this done? Very anxious in case anything goes wrong

Started B&R Treatment last week.
Hello. As so many do on this site, I thought I would provide info in the hope of helping others. Brief health history: diagnosed with CLL 2012, no symptoms, just elevated WBC's. On W&W all this time. Fast forward to spring 2020. Became extremely short of breath and found to be in heart failure but

Methotrexate not working?
Hi all, Diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in March, have been on Methotrexate for about 9 weeks and it’s really not helping with pain and the bloods still coming back with 30+ on CRP and ESR. I had a steroid injection as I couldn’t cope with the pain and I felt “normal” no swelling or joint pain for
