Throughout this pandemic we have tried lots of physio, stretches and a round of oral steroids which I never intend to take again after feeling somewhat, bonkers?! Hello all, I have been lurking on here for a while and it’s been incredibly helpful already. I feel I need a rant or maybe someone to tell me what else I can do. My mum was diagnosed with RA about 3 years ago and I have tried to support her as much as possible through this process. It took a year to

Wish the doctors would listen
So a month ago I started limping, pain in my right lower leg. A few days later pain in my right hip, due to walking badly due to pain in lower leg I thought. Straight away I suspected a stress fracture of my fibula as the pain was identical to that I had experienced in 2008. Back on crutches and using

C-section vs natural birth existing hip problems
So this is a bit late in the day but was wondering if anyone had a similar experience. I have an existing hip problem consisting of a ligament impingement and my socket sitting too deep in my pelvis. I have had countless steroid injections in my joint and 2 operations and before I got pregnant it limited

Why is Hashimoto's not on my physio's list of auto-immune disorders?
I attended an appointment to have a steroid injection in my hip for bursitis. The physio asked if I had any auto-immune disorders. I said Hashimoto's thyroiditis. She'd never heard of it so looked it up in her NHS work computer. Not on the list. I had the jab and am fine but am wondering if this is

Just had first phone consultation with rheumatologist
I have to have a face to face consultation with him but before this can happen he is sending me some blood tests to have done, which I assume I have done at my doctors. He said my ESR and CRP levels were raised when I had my first tests done and PMR diagnosis and my rheumatic levels were slightly raised

Steroid injection
I’ve been told I can’t have steroid injection into my foot because of taking Benepali Methotrexate and Hydroxychloroquine. I was due to have it in March but it was cancelled because of Covid. Anyone had a similar experience?

Steroids - Everything you need to know!
Hi guys A follow on from my ‘inhalers -what to take and when’ post ( https://healthunlocked.com/asthmauk/posts/144713745 ) I thought I’d do a post about steroids today (as I build up to doing the other asthma drugs 😅). Hopefully this will help to alleviate some fears, and give some people some guidance

Hospital want to put me on Methotrexate - yay or nay?
I’ve had multiple surgeries for synovitis but no trace of RA - yay or no when no clear diagnosis? I’ve had RA blood tests at least 4 or 5 time - nothing positive for RA. Latest synovectomies on finger joints, histopathology shows no trace of RA. After surgery, joint moves freely without pain. 7 surgeries
