gp recommends her advice for every flare up
I spoke to my gp today after starting steroids two weeks ago for PMR. We discussed what to do if I have a flare up, especially when I’m tapering. She said I should contact her with any flare up, as I may need a blood test. I’ve read on the forum how you tend to manage your own dosages with flare ups.

PMR/Prednisolone and dental implants
Hi, I’m enquiring as to whether anyone else has experienced issues with their dental implants since being diagnosed with PMR and taking Prednisolone. I’ve been having trouble with one of my dental implants for a couple of weeks and on seeing the dentist today have been told that the implant has loosened

steroids
I’m at end stage emphysema have just come off a dose of prednisone. Felt halfway human and motivated to do small jobs around the house. It felt so good just to make us both a cup of tea What is the reason why GPS are against giving a small does daily just to be able to have some quality of life. Thankyou

Trouble getting diagnosed with Fibromyalgia
Please can anyone tell me how to get this properly diagnosed? Over a year ago GP said I had Polymyalgia. Took steroids for six months which helped at first but then stopped working. Was referred to Rheumy who then said I have osteoarthritis but my pain is incredible all over and I am worried I may have

PMR & Cellulitis
Hi, some of you may remember that I posted a while back asking for tips to cope with long haul flights. Well, I arrived in Australia 6 weeks ago and didn’t have any problems after the flights, I just took an extra dose of Pred as suggested. However, two weeks ago I developed cellulitis in my left leg

reoccurring thrush on dienogest
Hello everyone, just thought I’d ask for some advice as I’m struggling with reoccurring thrush at the moment and although that doesn’t sound awful, on top of all the other pain it’s the last thing I want. Little bit of back story, I was diagnosed with endo last year. Had a laparoscopy and ablation

Shingles following AF
hi folks - seen a few posts recently about shingles and wondered about my own experience and if anyone had the same. I had an episode of AF in February which lasted 5.5hrs HR up to 182, next day a rash appeared on my collarbone and it turned out to be shingles. Cardiologist said it’s quite possible that

PMR weight loss
My first PMR symptoms, (which were severe and immediately diagnosed and addressed by 15 mg Prednisolone) occurred 7 and half years ago. Prior to that I had suffered inexplicable significant weight loss over 12 months ( from 12.5 to 11.5 stones-I’m 6’1”) My diet hadn’t changed and I suffered no other
