hi folks - seen a few posts recently about shingles and wondered about my own experience and if anyone had the same. I had an episode of AF in February which lasted 5.5hrs HR up to 182, next day a rash appeared on my collarbone and it turned out to be shingles. Cardiologist said it’s quite possible that AF was brought on by the shingles about to appear and can be brought on by illness (flu for instance). Anyone else found this - that if you are under the weather you get AF? I know when I am tired the palpitations are worse (although in NSR)

Any inflamation can bring on AF.
Hope you are feeling better now after your Shingles? I have a friend living in Spain who got it sometime before Christmas and is still very poorly and in pain from it.
As far as I am aware any inflammation or infection can bring on AF.
Take care of yourself.
