dengue fever vaccinate or not?
I started off on 15mg Pred in October and am now down to 10mg. I am off to India (Rajasthan) in February and dengue fever vaccine has been suggested. As it is a live vaccine I am not sure whether having the vaccine is worth the risk of contracting dengue. Any advice? Also big thanks to the community

Hello to “my turn to” friends. This is a new one to me.I had an osteoscan, my second. The last one was nearly two years ago. Since then I have had a Thr for Avascular necrosis and I am still struggling along dealing with flares after eight years. I have been on Leflunomide for two months now. Tapering

GVHD and skin dryness.
Unfortunately I have chronic graft versus host desiese of the skin and have controlled it with a steroid cream since my ASCT a year and a half ago. My only issue currently is that I find it hard to look after the skin on my hands and feet that are dry and chapped. I have used quite a few emoluments

I have managed to get down to 5mg which I have been taking now for 2weeks after being diagnosed with PMR 2 years ago. In that time I have put on 11kg! partially due to changing my job from ward based and very busy to a mainly office based job for the probation service. I feel like a whale going from

Diverticulitis?
I've had symptoms of self diagnosed diverticulitis for the last week. I thought I'd Google'd it and it seems those on steroids have a higher mortality from it than normal people! I never knew that and although I'm only at an early stage, it bothered me that I'd not read anything about it in the bumph

Immunocompromised?
Hi everyone I have looked at some pinned articles and still wanted to put this question out there. As a person who is Stage 0, is in W&W who has healthy RBC, Platelets and Immunoglobulin numbers… am I still considered immunocompromised? My WBC number is currently around 34. I work in large crowds

Update.
I contacted this forum, for the first time, just over 4 months ago as I had reduced my steroids from 5mg to 2.5mg and I felt ill. I was concerned that my PMR had returned. I was given some very useful advice and I contacted my GP who is very supportive. My GP suggested that I had steroid withdrawal

Newly diagnosed
Hi all, i was diagnosed today with PMR, this is the 1st day of my journey into the unknown. Is there anyone who isn't on steroid treatment. I'm unable to have steroids and was wondering how the alternatives work. Thanks on advance

Mycophenolate or Azathioprine ?
Hi friends, Some of you will remember that in February I had an intolerably itchy rash my Rheumy didn’t recognise as being a Lupus rash but was confirmed by Dermy as such. After being on Prednisolone for a total of 7 weeks tapering down by 5 mg per week, my poor innards were screaming. I couldn’t

advice re knee pain.
hi, I’m a 58yr old, who suffers from an inflammatory arthritis, called ankylosing spondylitis, and mainly affects the spine but also peripheral joints. 10 weeks ago, I was on holiday in Devon, and suddenly noticed my left knee was buckling. A week later it gave way in the shower and I fell and gashed

update PMR or Neck Problem
Just putting this here as I don’t know if anyone can see it on my thread, sorry if repeating myself. UPDATE Just spoke to GP. Not a successful call. When I mentioned neck/arm he says I haven’t got PMR & wants me off the steroids. I’m worried now in case I reduce and I really have got PMR again as well

Infection back again.
Been out of hospital for a week now after pneumonia and finding out I have a heart problem now. Ejection Fraction. Never heard of it before. Anyway, got home, started new meds for heart and now chest infection back. Feeling rather sorry for myself it's been ongoing about 9 weeks. I do like this forum

PMR, travelling abroad, emergency pack of Pred ( “ sick day rules”) in case of illness
Hello, I’m off to a small Greek island next week where there are limited medical facilities - there are doctors but no pharmacy. I’ve just had a bit of a frustrating conversation with a GP during which I was trying to explain that should I unfortunately become ill eg Covid ( I hope not of course !) would

Eczema
Hello! My 18-week old daughter was diagnosed with baby eczema last month. Her dad has eczema too. We have been on and off the steroid cream since :( Any tips on how to manage it and what has worked best for your little ones? I am off dairy, eggs and soy, also gluten-intolerant so no wheat and oats either

Heart failure and fatigue
I was diagnosed with moderate/severe LV failure earlier this year. I'm now taking 7.5mg bisoprolol, with entrestol 24/26, dapaglyflozine and eplerenone, and been on these doses for about 6 weeks. Although my BP and heartrate has been brought down very well by the heart meds, it's a struggle to keep

What cold med with Zoloft
Can anyone give me advice on what cold meds they use while on Zoloft? I have sinusitis and am used to taking Sudafed but just read that it may cause seratonin syndrome with Zoloft. What cold meds can I take with Zoloft? Thank you.
