Tooth Extraction delayed because of risks while on Alendronic Acid
Went for a molar tooth extraction yesterday. It had cracked at the side of an old filling and extraction is the only option. When I told the Dentist I was on Riveroxyban, Steroids and Alendronic Acid, he immediately told me that my extraction will have to be delayed for at least several months while

How it feels to have stopped steroids
Hi, just looking for some reassurance really. I stopped Prednisolone in November and felt OK, some stiffness in legs but no pain. And yoga and weekly exercise class has helped. Probably like most I felt much better when we got those odd spring days. And last week cut down a couple of bushes in the

Numb Lower Lip and Chin
This morning (So Cali time), the left side of my lower lip and chin were numb. This evening, my whole lower lip and chin are numb. Has anyone experienced this with PMR, GCA or steroids? Feeling a bit panicky.

Falls
Okay, my new friends, I could use a little help. I've started falling. I'm hoping the steroid infusions I'm now getting will stop that (on day 2 of 3!) but I've found this morning that I still need to be really careful. I've almost fallen several times today already (it's only 7:18 AM here!) and I'm

I know we all are bored and tired of this disease but I cannot believe how this has affected me. I am 57 and was extremely active with running and socially very active but now!!!! Yes, I walk my dog and get to chat socially with other dog walkers but my life is so boring. I am worried about crowds as

Methotrexate
Hi, I have been on Prednisolone for the past two years for PMR and after various flares, ups and downs, am currently tapering and am at 9.5 mg daily, decreasing 0.5 mg every two weeks. At a routine drug review at the surgery this week the pharmacist said she was surprised I had not been put on Methotrexate

12 days since upping Pred . Now on 20mg and still hurting with PMR symptoms
Hi Everyone . follow up on my post 12 days ago , (Thank you for all your advice and concern ). After severe stress in my life ,I reached out on here to ask about boosting steroids from 12mg upwards . Assuming it was a flare I went up by 5mg to 17mg with the view to stay there for a week and drop

Discussion with pharmacist
Last Friday when I went to collect my prescription I was told by the pharmacist that she had requested my prescription be reviewed. Apparently Incruse Ellipta and Montelukast should not be on prescription together (I'm also on the high dose Relvar). She wanted to know what I was being treated for Copd

Mood and sleep disturbance on longterm steroids- useful article, page 1
I’ve only just read this from the latest issue of the PMRGCAUK magazine. I had no idea that steroids can make it hard to regulate mood and feel motivated. A psychologist specialising in the area explains how this happens and suggests ways we might be able to counter those effects. I can’t find a way

Hi! Just joined. Is there MG-lite?
I recently found out I have 0.12nmol/L of anti-AChR antibodies, but am told that's too low to be of any consequence. I certainly don't have the tell-tale symptoms of full-blown myasthenia gravis (MG), but I do have a very easily fatigued, twitchy, blinky left eye (and milder symptoms in the right one

Hi! I just joined. CIDP: Is anyone like me?
My neurologist thinks I might have chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), despite the fact that, apart from the occasional shooting pain, cramp, or twinge, I don't have any motor-control, spasm or electric-shock-like symptoms. What I do have is longstanding, progressive, bilateral

GCA starting again?
Started with GCA 2016, had a couple of flares but got down to 3 mg. Then a couple of years after that started with PMR up with the steroids. Had a couple of flares, arthritis too now in knees and shoulders. About 3 years ago started with vertigo which hasn’t been bad. For two days have had really bad

Vitamin K2
Trying to find best vitamin K2 supplement. I can’t take calcium but lots of dairy and take D3 on its own daily. I take methotrexate, steroids and other meds so I don’t want the strongest K2 but one I can absorb without a problem. I have been on risedronate for two years but dexa scan had not improved

Auto immune encephalitis
My father was diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis, after experiencing seizures and deja vu, approx 12 months ago, he was treated with steroids. He subsequently developed diabetes and 9 weeks ago was admitted to hospital after developing a leg infection. The leg infection was treated successfully.
