Test results and what to ask my GP
My results showed not just high cholesterol, but also: Serum TSH 8.7 Serum free T4 12.8 So there's a note about me being subclinical hypothyroid and another about
statins
. So I'm guessing the GP is just going to want to put me on
statins
.

I mention the
statins
as a couple of people who I've spoken to have told me similar stories of other people.

PMR and statins
He was then put on
statins
, and every week for the last three he has had a flare, not sure if it’s coming off them, even though he has come off by slow tapering, or could it be the
statins
? Hence he is now back on 2mg daily. Wondered if anyone else has had any problems with
statins
?

NICE guidance on statins
I recall seeing a reference to NICE guidance suggesting that
statins
should not be prescribed unless hypothyroidism has been eliminated. I’m struggling to find it and should be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. Many thanks

I suggested the issue may be the
statins
but that was dismissed as he said if it was, it would affect all my muscles and not just my arm and back. Has anyone else experienced this and is he right, would the pain not just be restricted to certain areas?

Do Drs get a bonus for prescribing certain drugs ?
Does anybody know if Gps get a hand out for prescribing
statins
? There has been a lot of controversy in regard to this topic. Late yesterday afternoon I had a call from my surgery. It was a Dr I had never heard of or had I spoken to her before. She was suggesting I were put on
statins
!

Statins and Hydroxychloroquine
Has anyone ever experienced a reaction when taking
statins
and hydroxychloroquine? I have had Palindromic RA for four years and hydroxyl has kept it under control with just occasional flares.

My father was unwell on
statins
so I am anti. Should I increase my levo and still refuse
statins
as it seems that would be logical for me. My diet is healthy, although I am not totally gluten free, I don’t buy or eat much bread but do cook from scratch.

coq10 use for statin muscle pain
will not take be taking it but was hopeful it may give me some relief from muscle pain caused from
statins
… Even though my cardiologist says that’s not a thing… It’s an imagined/ suggested pain people get because they read it is a side effect of
statins
.
