Fenofibrate for cholesterol

I have high cholesterol , at 8 , i have tried all statins and cannot tolerate any of them.My main worry is i have had clots in the past and had a hemothyroidectomy due to thyroid cancer .

I am just so worried about taking these as it states clots in the lung ,i also have copd and scarring of the lungs .yikes .i really dont know if i should take them .

Sounds like this is a conversation to have with your hematologist for sure. Do you think just dietary changes would help?

Thankyou Donna ,it hasnt made any difference in the last few yrs .exercise diet etc

if you do take these make sure your kidneys are being monitored because it can cause kidney problems.

Monitoring kidney functions should be part of each of our regular lab work... it's called a CMP - comprehensive metabolic profile. You are right about many drugs that we all take can cause some kidney issues and need to be monitored for sure.

that's perfect timing for sure.... Standard of Care suggests lab work every 3-6 months.
