Still on 80mg of Statin
I was researching the taking of
Statins
on the NICE website and my surprise their recommendations that a patient should only be taking 80mgs if the patient is suffering from very high cholesterol or high risk of cardiovascular complications.

Dr stipulated that I will not be put on

Absorption Causes
This drug is meant to protect my gut and stomach etc. from other medication that I have to take for blood pressure, heart, anti coagulant, (aspirin) and to prevent build up of cholesterol (
Statins
). Unfortunately it prevents me from ingesting and absorbing B12 orally too.

Tests tests tests!
All the blood tests picked up the fact that I had extremely high cholesterol so after 8 weeks on
statins
that has reduced from a shocking 10 to 5.3. They also found I have high blood pressure so on medication for that.

I had the Holter fitted because I'd been experiencing palpitations and skipped beats; this has settled down now and I think may have been largely stress-related.I was diagnosed with non-obstructive CAD back in 2018 and take
statins
etc.

Cholesterol amazement!
However I've just had the results from my first blood test since I've been on
statins
and I'm very pleased with the outcome- on 22nd April my total cholesterol was a shocking 10 but today it's down to 5.3! I'm amazed! Clearly the atorvastatin is working.

Vitamin K2 with meds
Any experts on vitamins know much about the connection between taking
statins
(atorvastatin) asperin and vitamin K2 . The more you read the more complex it gets.
