Statins

I’ve been reading posts about adrenals and cholesterol and am wondering if the statins I’m taking for high cholesterol will affect this.,

In the last 3 weeks I've been taking rosuvastatin 5mg, I questioned my GP about this as I've been free from severe rls since starting buprenorphine patches, and I was skeptical about them not affecting my rls, the past 4 nights I'm back to my normal level of horrendous rls, arms, legs, shoulders etc.

I have just had a phone call from a lady at my GP surgery, saying my cholesterol is high and asking if I want to see a pharmacist at the surgery and go on statins or just want to receive a link to the NHS website re a healthy lifestyle. Has anybody found that statins effect their asthma ?

I was put on statins about 6 months ago. Around the same time my legs started to feel heavy. Now they are heavy all the time. It is a horrible feeling at top of my thighs. Even feel heavy back passage. After bowel movement. So not sure if its my IBS or the statins?

They are aware that my father died at a young age as i stated this when i requested the test and having checked my results I thought they would have been pushing statins on me. Not that i want to go on medication!

Has anyone got their LDL less than 2 without the use of statins? Without statins my LDL is 3.8 and with the lowest dose statin it is 1.9. The cardiac rehab team said that my LDL should be less than 1.8.

Hello, I have been advised to take statins as there is an increased risk that Lupus brings for cardiovascular disease. My cholesterol is 6 and QRISK is 5.5%. I’m 59, diagnosed with Lupus 5 years ago. Do any of you lovely people have experience of taking statins? Thank you 🙏

I have decided to stop taking the statins immediately and I'm taking plant sterols instead. My question is has anyone out there tried any of the pharmaceutical alternatives?

My GP keeps trying to push me to take statins there is nothing wrong with my Cholesterol is there a reasoning why they keep saying something about guidelines for CKD .

Would someone remind me whether statins are not advisable for a hypothyroid female of 76 please? I had a blood test a few months back and my cholesterol is fine but my GP still put statins on repeat for me.

My cholesterol went up to 6.5 so GP wanted me to go on statins. I also have high BP. My cholesterol has gone down to 4.5 after just 6 weeks of taking statins. I want to stop taking them, or at least not every day. Anybody done this?

i am having trouble accepting Statins as i react by losing the strength in my lower arms , wrists and hands. I have tried two types and despite having an undiagnosed Chronic fatigue and pain condition ( since 2017).

I read articles which suggest that statins can cause muscular problems including swallowing. So I'm wondering if I should consider coming off the statins which I have been taking for about 16 months due to angina and stenting for a blockage.

It says online that anyone with liver disease should not be on statins but gp said I should be on statins because I had fatty liver. I'm confused - should I be on statins if I have nafld? I'm female aged late 50s.
