Just been offered
statins
but not because of cholesterol and weighing up the pros and cons as the doctor has also told me taking it increases the chances of me developing diabetes. Wondered if you have any information about the side effects?

Hi Can I please ask, if anybody takes a K2 vitamin and
statins
? I ask as i've been led to believe that K2 vitamin directly moves the calcium directly into the bones and not straight into the arteries. I've also read that if you take
statins
with this vitamin it stops it from doing this task??

v=0MSNUjQt0u0 I find it fascinating that doctors are aware that
statins
don't work on dialysis patients, even the KDIGO guidelines say not to prescribe them, and yet doctors still will go ahead and lower LDL using
statins
. I know I am on one ...

Another Statin meta-analysis.
The pooled estimates showed that exposure to hydrophilic
statins
was not associated with the incidence of PCA .., while the incidence of PCA was significantly decreased in populations exposed to lipophilic
statins
compared with the nonexposed group .., mainly in Western countries ...

May Help Reduce Strokes Related to Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) New research finds that taking
statins
may help reduce the risk of stroke in people who have atrial fibrillation. This is an interesting article with implications for those with Afib.

I have fibromyalgia, which gives me this, so am hoping
statins
don’t aggravate it. The pharmacist said people don’t realise that
statins
affect magnesium in the body and you need extra. Any thoughts on this?

Cholesterol rising?
If it is then - given it is a natural consequence -
statins
seems to be the ONLY answer. Is that correct? I also read that
statins
can reverse arterial plaque - is that correct?

Statins - get informed and know the risks
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/
statins
/considerations/ For me personally the issue is people are frequently already being treated with
statins
long before a diagnosis of hypothyroidism has ever been made.

statins update
As for brain fog and memory loss, don’t get me started on them 🤣 For years I have believed
statins
were toxic…… well, it turns out they are for me! 3 days of not taking them and I am returning to normal. i am now exploring other options through diet and exercise.

Link twixt Levo dosage and cholesterol
I do not want to take
Statins
and now feel there is hope. Encouraging - high cholesterol = longer life span
Statins
can lead to shorter life span. Hmm - now to convince the GP. :-)
