Tips and advice for newbies about to undergo laparoscopy - what to expect and recovery (please add your experiences to share knowledge)
Hi everyone, Hope you're all as comfortable as possible today. I thought I would share this thread as I have answered questions about the first lap a few times now and thought it would be fab if we had a dedicated post where we can all share our tips and knowledge of laps and recovery for any newbies

Test result for Thyroid and NHS bloods - help needed please
I've just got back my Medichecks thyroid result and I am panicking a lot, as my antibodies are off the charts and I wasn't expecting anything that bad. I also got my blood work off my GP surgery last week, including a 24hr urine test they did late December last year for adrenal issues. Regarding the

E coli in urine 10weeks 6days pregnant
Hi everyone, So on saturday I went to the docs with a suspected UTI. I gave a urine sample and the doctor diagnosed me as dehydrated. Sent me home with ORS. Started to feel better after a couple of glasses of that, continued to drink as much as was prescribed. Urine went back to normal colour. The next

Absolutely fuming
So after a 6 hour wait, the doctor finally called me and said she didn't know why I bothered to ring as my urine sample was normal (despite having had 5 UTIs in 7 months) and there's nothing else they're willing to do for me. She told me the private specialist I saw said it was IBS, which is utter tosh

CLL and worsening allergy but poor immunity
Came across a great article on the relationship between inflammation, allergies and a poor immunity in CLL. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3844117/ Every now and then I hear about people with CLL on the forums saying that they never really get properly sick. So for example a cold comes

10 day difference in labs before and after pain medication
I went by ambulance to the ER for severe muscle spasms on left side of my back. They drew blood before giving me any medication. While waiting for results I was given an i.v. of morphine and some sort of muscle relaxer. All labs came back in normal range so I was released with instructions to take Naproxen

Took so long just to speak to doctor to get tests okayed. It was 2014 I was diagnosed with PA (never treated) and iron deficiency anemia (always given iron tablets. I'd feel ok for a while then cycle continues) Doctor is repeating all tests had to do 6 tubes of blood and urine sample. thankfully I dont

PMR Relapse or not ?
Hi Everybody I would appreciate it if some of the long time specialists on this panel could read my post and comment . Thank you I was diagnosed with PMR in March 2015 and took steroids until Aug 16. Everything back to normal - although my GP helpfully told me I would probably relapse. Got very active

Gfr lower end of range - should this concern me?
Hi, This is my first post here. I'venot been diagnosed with ckd but just had a blood great which concerned me a bit. I have controlled hypertension and am 58 years old. I go for an annual fasting blood test and never had any problems. But this year I was recalled because my gfr was 55. Everything else

Unbearable pain on ejaculation for a year and a half, no idea what's going on
The whole story's kind of long, so I'll give a tl;dr at the end. I'll start by saying that I'm 20, male, and have never had sex. The first time this happened was around Nov 2017. For a few weeks prior there was a slight burn after climax that went away within a minute or two, but I didn't really pay

Burning in pelvis - fed up!
I've had a constant burning in my pubic bone since November, getting gradually worse with each period until this month the pain is literally unbearable. I've had constant urine infections and had my urine tested each time, and been given antibiotic after antibiotic and nothing has touched it. The private

Ignored CKD diet and then had best test results so far
I am not making recommendations that what I did should be done by you. Each must follow their own doctors advice. I am just relating my experience. In mid 2017 I had kidney removed. I immediately became classified stage 3b, with creatinine levels of 1.8 or 1.9. I followed all the advice. Diet.

bedwetting
Hi I've just been on the website and thought I'd ask here. My son was dry at night but is now wetting. I checked with GP as I wondered if it could be something wrong, but the urine test was fine and they're not worried. What do people do about it practically??

I'm having trouble as my regular doctor has retired. I can't get another practice locally to take me on so I'm stuck between locums which is not ideal. I attended with lower back pain, tired and feeling ill. Doctor treated for UTI with anti biotics. After 2 Urine samples, both were inconclusive. Pain
