Hopping mad, furious, about to burst a blood vessel: ultrasound scan, fibroids, oestrogen dominance associated with Hashimoto's,
Need to vent, fellow Thyroid People: Off my own back - because i have an uncaring, revenue focused, obstructive, disinterested, hostile NHS GP, i wrote to her (cannot stomach seeing her - she has the gluten effect on me) and asked for another scan as she had not bothered to monitor my fibroids since

If an in patient is told they need to be transported to another hospital for treatment do they have to stand the ambulance transport costs?
My sister is posing her doctors some problems. They don't seem to be able to find the right treatment for her and are shipping her all over the country for test after test, with no consideration for whether or not she will be fed at any point in the day and charging each time she is transported. They

Blood donations save our lives
Ever been stuck for what to say when someone finds out you have CLL and asks what they can do? Why not ask them to consider becoming a blood donor? The Australian Red Cross Blood Service has just launched a Blood Blitz call for additional donors to make up the expected national shortfall of 13,000

To those of you on NPlate, how often is a normal injection, how much and what is the goal set by your doctor as far as count?
Rituxan, IVIG,
platelet
transfusions
and prednisone were of no real help. I keep reading everyones comments about their count being 20,000 to 50,000 but his Dr keeps giving injections and wants him about 300,000 because about every 10 days it drops to between 17,000 and 60,000.

What is the possible end of life scenario for sufferers of myelo fibrosis?
My mother has myelo fibrosis. She was diagnosed 13 years ago. She has had regular blood transfusions for the past three years. She is getting weaker and is suffering from breathlessness & anxiety. Her tranfusions seem to be getting less effective. At some point she may prefer not to continue with transfusions

I have now been off steroids for AIHA for 4 weeks: they worked so well when I was on them and 66% of the time they work long term. Hb levels
