Hi Sam,I've had restless legs, so know how annoying it can be!!.i normally sleep with my knees bent, sitting partly up, alternatively ,raising the legs with a couple of pillows under the calves may help.
Best of luck with your op on the 30th and try not to worry, you will be in good hands, and hopefully all your resident beasties will be given their marching orders!!
Remember to take a small sponge to moisten your lips and some mints, always recall my mouth was like the desert when I woke up.
Much love xxxxxx
During Clemo I stopped the steroids because of restless legs the side effects of steriods I hated , pins and needles in the feet got me x
Good luck for your surgery Sam. I didn't take all the steroids. I didn't take all mine with the first chemo. Think the hospital overdosed me a bit. My second hospital looked shocked when I joked I'd have sleepless nights due to the steroids. They said if I did the prescription was incorrect. Seemed to be the case as the second line of chemo I never had a sleepless night or restless legs.
I hope all goes well with the stay in hospital. I remember having really dry lips and they gave me a sponge dipped in ice-cold water to suck. I found the op gives you a lot of wind and was told the only way to get rid of it is to walk. It worked a treat as soon as I was up and about again.
hugs xx Annie
Thank you Annie. Yes ive heard about the dry lips and wind! Ive ordered some peppermint capsules which are apparently very good, and also the moving about I wont forget works.
Going in a day early now as having 2 units of blood.
Love Sam
I keep you posted when all done xx
Good luck Sam, you will feel better once you are at the hospital as they make you feel safe and cared for so put your trust in them they will look after you. Re the restless legs I get them sometimes and its horrible, I take a dose of Oralmorf as that is the only thing that takes it off. GP said it was ok to take now and again. I did not have any wind just constipation for one day then was OK but I took the max sachets of Movicol and the laxative capsules but as soon as I'd 'been' I dropped the movicol to one a day and was OK. Had 5 a day in fruit so think that helped much happier for you when its over, you will feel much more relaxed I know I did xx.
Best of Luck Sam. My feet just get incredibly sore all the time. Theres nothing worse than sore legs and feet! xxx Trish
Best of luck with your operation, my remedy for aches and pains in legs and feet is to soak feet in a basin of water with epsom salts or if you have a bath, put the salts into the bath about half a cup ful and soak for twenty mins, it does help. But you can get pins and needles if your blood count is down so that could be the problem. I agree with what the rest of the ladies have said, try and move around next day a little after the op, and stay away from white bread, get someone to bring you in some brown bread, homemade if poss Thinking of you
