Sorry all, this is a long post by way of introduction and first diagnosis
Hello all, my name is John and I’m freshly diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, I’m still going through tests so I don’t know how damaged the liver is, but the prognosis has now been delayed due to two nodules having been found in my liver, I have had one CAT scan and one MRI scan but the nodules still

Still undecided on treatment
Hi everyone,am still in a quandary as to whether I should have both carpoblatinand taxol. Not sure my body would survive the side effects. My surgery two months ago left me exceptionally weak, with low blood pressure, anaemia, exceptional bowel problems, breathing difficulties, which led to my re admission

Blood Donors
Just realised I've got an appointment booked to give blood tomorrow - does anyone know if I can still donate now I've been diagnosed with COPD? I rang the Blood Transfusion Service but the lady I spoke to said COPD wasn't on her list of medical condition so she would get a consultant to ring me, but

Artificially produced platelets hopefully coming soon
One of the triggers for starting treatment is falling platelet levels. With levels generally falling during treatment, you need some leeway, so it is important not to put off treatment too long if they fall below 70. We can't boost production of platelets like we can neutrophils, so weekly transfusions

Most effective way to increase Ferratin, Vit C and B12 levels?
Would love to hear others experience. According to my GP I am not technically anaemic as my Hb is very good even though I have a Ferratin level of 10 A further test however also indicated that my B12 level is 215 so maybe borderline PA? I have tried Ferrous Fumerate and Ferrous Sulphate but both have

Fistulagrams
Hi Fellow kidney Patients, I would like to hear from anybody who has had a fistulagram. My renal consultant Dr Fluck said something that concerned me regarding risks associated with having a fistulagram. He told me that there is a risk that I may need a blood transfusion! I have had numerous fistulagrams

Hello ladies, I have not been on here for a few weeks. Mum is on the trial where she has a big blast of carboplatin and then a third of taxol every week. Has anyone had an endometrial cyst on their womb?
Hey I'm new to all this forum stuff and still getting to grips with all of the terminology... About 3 weeks ago I was rushed Into hospital after a blood test as my blood count was 6.2 (normal is around 12-14 I believe in women) I'd experience consistent heavy, clotting bleeding and was in excruciating

Bladder problems after laproscopy
Hi everyone. I had my laproscopy early Tuesday morning. I was told id be in and out. I had 2 large cysts removed and a small amount of old edometriosis was found which i think shows taking the pill back to back has worked. When I woke up I had a drain fitted through my tummy and a catheter inserted.

On my 3rd week of Rituxan and Nplate, every week my plates and red white counts drop. Is this not working?
It seems I should have had improvement by now. WBC - 2.4, RBC - 2.38, Platelets 9k. I had steroids and that didn't work either. In 2012 I had a 6 day nosebleed in the hospital Had several transfusions, nplate and cyclosporin, My platelets went to 80,000 for a brief period. Now I am back to this again

Chronic pelvic pain and pelvic congestion...
It all started for me while giving birth to my daughter 12 years ago. My uterus ruptured and I lost more than half the blood in my body, I almost didn't make it. I needed an emergency blood transfusion. Within 2 years all my pelvic issues popped up. I had 14 pelvis surgeries and 5 of them were within

Igg testing ---food allergies. Does anyone know about this. Is there different Igg antibodies? I searched but was unable to find that info.
I saw a Allergist yesterday. Unbelievable, the only dr. I found in the United States to try to help me. She listened to everything I had to say and she believed me. She had some answers, to why i felt so much pain after a blood transfusion, bad bug bite, etc... But guess what she trained in Europe &
