Quick update
As I previously posted, hubby is due a stoma reversal on the 25th July. We had a phone call yesterday from the CLL Clinical Nurse stating that colorectal team have requested that he has a blood transfusion before the op. He is having this on the 18th July, they expect him to have at least 4 units.

Don't know what to do.
Hi, I have a son who has a diagnosis of autism. I'm in a happy relationship. We thought for many years about trying for baby number 2. I suffered a 4th degree tear during the birth of my first 7 years ago, followed by a large blood transfusion and then what I feel was quite bad post natal depression.

Amiodrone allergy
Hello. I had a mitral valve replacement and aortic repair about 18 months ago. The op itself went well, but when I went into AF, I was given Amiodrone and seem to have a rare allergy to that drug. As a result my blood pressure went all over the place with the effect of tearing a small hole in one of

Venetoclax - Day 25 - 200mg
A week ago, whilst half way through the 100mg dose week, plus 2 x flucanazole, multiple IV antibiotics and blood and
platelet
transfusions
, her fevers started to lessen. It was much needed relief for her as she was so weak from them.

We saw Dr Shuh for the first time, hubbys HB has dropped to 8.1 but wbc was 85, platelets were 139 He is no longer suffering with iron defiancy anaemia, that reading was good, but he is still suffering with anaemia. Oncologist told my Stepdad there is nothing else he can do for him.
My Stepdad was diagnosed last August with stage 4 prostate cancer that metastasized to his bones. They started him on taxatere* and his platelets levels wouldn't remain high enough for him to continue receiving the treatment. He then started him on Lupron and Zyriga I believe in which he had an awesome

Blood transfusion anyone?
Hi All After having 6 rounds of carbo taxol finishing 4 weeks ago I am absolutely wiped out and can only walk about 100 yds. I am having a blood transfusion on Saturday as blood tests show low readings. Has anyone else had to have one? If so how quickly did you feel the benefits? Fay

31 years with ITP - new here
I'm interested in those who have
platelet
transfusions
! I was always told that was a really big no no for us. I've seen so many changes in my years of having it. Each one of us has our own experience. IgG seems to be the only treatment that works for me. I've yet to try anything else.

Abnormal shaped red blood cells
Hi. I have been getting B12 shots and iron infusion every other week since end of April following major Blood transfusion when hospitalized and diagnosed with hemoglobin of 4.5. Umbilical cord blood could slow brain's ageing
Here we go... https://www.theguardian.com/science/2017/apr/19/umbilical-cord-blood-could-slow-brains-ageing-study-suggests Scientists have reversed memory and learning problems in aged mice with infusions of a protein found in human umbilical cord blood. I posted something similar a year or so back

My ITP story at 14 years old. And it is now back at 21?
We paid to get it translated and gave it to a doctor in the UK, they prescribed steroids as my
platelet
count was 9,000 even AFTER the
transfusions
