Physiotherapy?
During the assessment the nurse said that I would be referred for
Physiotherapy
. I’m wondering if physio is helpful for PMR? I can’t tolerate the steroids so I’m still in The agonising stage. Thanks.

Starting again - a bit of a long rambling post
This forum has been very helpful to me since I started running (5 years ago), with countless tips starting off by telling me how to attach my number when I had no idea what to do for my first 5k. Keeping me motivated during lockdown and giving so mush support as I did my first marathon and then ultra

Starting to consider hormonal treatment.. advice?
Hi all - I know this will be so unique to the individual and will seek help from my GP when I come to make a decision, but just trying to get a general opinion on experiences with hormonal treatment. I had my Mirena coil taken out two years ago when I was diagnosed as it was not sitting properly due

TENS machines & AF
Does anyone here use a TENS machine? A physio has recommended one to me for a different health issue. Pads would be on ankles, not near heart. I’ve lone PAF (no pacemaker). AFib isn’t contraindicated, but sending electrical signals through my body feels counter-intuitive. Thx.

Right Hip Replacement June 21, 2023
Hello all. My name is Chris, a 55 year old from the US. For the past 2 years I've had debilitating hip pain in my right hip. I just kept putting off a doctor's visit believing "it would get better". Well, this spring when my answer to every "do you want to?" question was "NO", I finally got fed

GTPS?
Mid 50s. Enjoy tennis, cold water swimming and cycling. Diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my left hip 9 months ago, but X-ray was normal and my symptoms were less typical (pain down outer side of thigh and shin; none in hip). More recently diagnosed with GTPS in my right hip (very sore around my hip

Mile by mile 8 miler!
I had a fun run yesterday. The longest one In absolutely ages and I had a full on attack of nerves before. I thought to distract myself, I’d try and remember how I was feeling at each mile of it. I’d recommend having a go-it doesn’t have to be every mile-it could be shorter intervals or time based

Leg Cramping, Ankle Neuropathy...Help!
Hello all! When I last posted 2 months ago, I had questions regarding the possibility that my daily 1,000 mcg sublingual might no longer be adequate to address PA, even though all of my test results were adequate (MMA, Homocysteine, MCV). Since then, however, I've developed left ankle numbness/pain.

How much exercise needed?
I know everybody’s body differs but … still I’d like some guidelines. Until a couple years ago I was pretty fit, running most days, going to gym 2x per week but then started having hip pain. I would’ve replaced hip but got Dx with PCa 6 months ago and so have postponed that. I’ve had HDR Brachy and

Is this PMR?
Hello I'm new to this site and to the world of PMR. Hoping to get some guidance from this lovely community. My GP has diagnosed me with PMR at 42 and I'm not entirely convinced as I don't fit the symptoms of aches and stiffness in the shoulders and hips. This all started in March 23 where I woke

My Journey - Breast Cancer
So far - I'm Lucky. On March 8th - my husband found a lump on my right breast. He was so sweet - Honey - when was your last Mamo. July 2023 - Why. And then he showed me what he felt. After a sleepless night - right to the Gyno - no worries about apts. I needed to see them. They got me a Mamo

bronchiectasis, asthma and long covid
Hi, I’m about 3 months into my bronchiectasis journey since my diagnosis earlier this year. My 3 month azithromycin trial went well and is now on my repeat prescription list (with it feels like a million other things ) I went for assessment for pulmonary rehab and the physio decided I’m too affected
