bronchiectasis, asthma and long covid
Hi, I’m about 3 months into my bronchiectasis journey since my diagnosis earlier this year. My 3 month azithromycin trial went well and is now on my repeat prescription list (with it feels like a million other things ) I went for assessment for pulmonary rehab and the physio decided I’m too affected

Recovery after partial Knee Replacement
Firstly thank you to everyone who took the time to reply to my last post regarding post op fatigue. That does indeed seem to have passed. However, I am still struggling with trying to gauge how much pain relief I should be using and progress with exercises. It would be really useful to hear from anyone

Latest visit to my physio.
Five years into my PMR journey, and many visits to my very gentle physiotherapist. This latest appointment, she had arranged for me to see her, and the spinal physio at a joint appointment. The spinal physio person asked a lot of questions, and explained a lot about spine and nerve stuff. Made a lot

osteoporosis and spinal fractures
Hello, I have been a member on health unlocked forums for many years due to other health conditions. I joined this bone health forum last year 2022, following three fractures out of the blue. (The first whilst cleaning my teeth and coughing) this was last February 14, happy Valentine’s Day lol 😂

Ankle Pain
I have been in pain with my ankles for about 4 years now. After the pain started I went to my doctor and he said that it was my Achilles tendons that were causing the pain so i was told I had to wear ankle braces or stop playing sports. I wanted to continue playing but the pain was getting worse so I

A little trial run
After managing to see an old friend who is a physio and getting her advice I’ve been doing regular stretches on my left foot /ankle. She thinks it’s a bit of plantar fasciitis rather than Achilles tendinitis and gave a couple of sets of exercises to do each day several times. I’ve been very good and

You Can't Make This Up
Morning MS fam. I'm a bit frustrated this morning and losing what little faith I have left in our healthcare system. I need to vent. The other day I met my new PC doc at the VA, went over issues, problems. While I was there, I had an embarrassing bout of leakage from my back end. She had asked me if

neuropathy
I have been diagnosed with neuropathy in my left leg. Has anyone else with RA been diagnosed with this and how do you cope with it. My physio diagnosed it. I find that I can't walk a fraction of the distances I was able to walk at the beginning of the year.

Sleep Problems - Not enough sleep
I've started to have problems sleeping. I usually wake up 1 or 2 times a night. However, over the past few weeks, I've been getting 1 to 3 hrs of sleep. I don't know what to do. I fall asleep ok. After sleeping for approx 1.5 hrs I wake up. I go to the bathroom then as I try to go back into bed and

Any tips pls ..? Dad's really tired of is cough - that's now a mix of dry (mainly) and some mucous
Hi, the mucous is not really coming out now. But the dry cough is new. The hospital checked for an infection (given the dry cough), but didn't spot anything which is a relief.
So, my question is really about how best to handle a cough that's dry , with just a little mucous ..?
He's using codeine

Rheumatologist appointment help
Good Morning. ( This is a long story so will try to make it as condensed as I can) 4 years ago I was diagnosed with PMR after painful joints, hands arms, shoulders and toes. I was put on a dose of 40mg of pred as they also thought I may have GCA. Although that turned out to be a dental issue. I was

Exercising with active RA
Is this the sort of thing that
physiotherapy
services help with? Should my RA be under control before embarking on new exercising?

too fast
so I completed my c25k back in December by hurting my knee on my last run🤦🏻♀️. Fast forward to now, knee is better, physio helped and I am back to running. So I run approximately 30 mins but the problem is my speed. When I start I feel really comfortable with my run more than at a slower pace but

Update with some pleasant news! I think? and a question
I went to my rheumy yesterday and was supposed to be at 5mg. I am just beginning the taper for 7.5mg. Needless to say she was not happy. She had to push the issue because; "my GP doesn't like it that I am still on the pred." I thought that was curious because the only reason he even got involved was

Possible bloated stomach and bronchiectasis
Hi everyone I'm 60 years old and have just been diagnosed with 'mild' bronchiectasis. I have been coughing for months and expectorating just a little greenish phelgm every day. The consultant is sending me to a chest physio as treatment in the first instance. Is this best course of action? He's not

Follow-up: ER Visit for Excruciating Back Spasms
On advice of my former Neurologist, I went into the ER on Wednesday past and sat for 4 hours. Could sit no longer due to the spasms from hip girdle to diaphragm and a little higher. Left the ER. Yesterday, I decided to go in the morning. Waited about 2 hrs. They gave me a shot of something which starts

Week seven done!
I'm back - after a LONG break. It was all going swimmingly till Feb 2019. I'd lost around 3 stone in weight, graduated Couch to 5K, doing parkruns, did Bridge to 10k, loving it all. Then Feb 2020 - during a 10K run, fell over going too fast downhill. Nasty fracture of two knuckles. Got operated on
