Latest visit to my Physio, part 3.
Many thanks to all who replied to part 1and 2 of this saga. As hoped for, the experts came through with enough correct information, and advice for my current situation. I printed out plenty of information for the one physio to read, in the hope that she would not give wrong information to another Long

Back on the move !
Well, it's been a painful couple of weeks!I managed to hurt my back again just around 2 weeks ago now . All had been going well with the gym rehab and including 30 minute treadmill runs while I was there . I think the culprit though was the squat machine! I wasn't lifting anything heavy but it's very

Atypical femoral fracture symptoms
I am on zoledronic acid infusions. I know these have a rate side effect of atypical femoral fractures. About a year ago I developed pain in my hip. OP nurse said to visit GP who got me to do a few leg raises then said that because the pain was not constant or only present if weight bearing it probably

hi all, I have an upcoming GP phone appointment (28th) following my latest abnormal results shared on this thread: https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/149902998/seeking-advice I’ve been trying daily to get an appointment sooner, but I’m told my GP has no availability and has specifically

Hip pain
I have severe OP, had 5 compression fractures, 2 years of teriparatide, now on Raloxifene. Over the last week I’ve had nasty hip pain, much worse at night. It eases with exercise, is worse with sitting and standing. I’m generally quite active, I walk the dog every day and I’ve been doing standing and

Cambridge area OP exercise class?
I have osteoporosis and would love to find a fun, regular, class run locally in the Cambridge area, which involves suitable weight resistance/core strength exercises and is aimed particularly at patients with OP (and run by a physio or someone who is knowledgeable about OP). Has anyone heard of such

Support: Anxiety about having a baby
Hello everyone, I've been suffering from chronic pain for about fifteen years now (half of my life) and it's really taken its toll. My wife is currently pregnant and I fluctuate between knowing I'm going to love this little bundle of joy as much as I can to feeling drained and terrified about failing

Doing what is necessary....skipping Actemra
I just thought I'd share this experience in case others have to make the same decisions. I'd had shoulder surgery, replacement, on July 10th and had to wear what they call an immobilizer to keep my arms close to my body. The only way I could sleep at all was in a recliner. Next 6 weeks I spent most

Finally some progress
Those who followed our Journey, know this is such a painful process of grief. Two weeks ago, the hospital wrote it would not change the factual information in my wife's chart. In her chart it had been written she had Biopys proven Nash Cirrhosis, which led doctors looking at ultrasounds that said

I tired
physiotherapy
but frankly the doctors were pretty useless. Its gotten to the point where the amount of exercise I can perform is virtually zero. Being forced to stop doing everything I loved made me very depressed and I am so a comfort eater so Im sure you can see where this is going.

Cryotherapy
Has anyone tried cryotherapy for PMR? I’d be interested to know as it’s supposed to be reduce inflammation (as well as other benefits) . I am embedded in the football world and the physio of a club suggested it to me saying he thought it might help. Any thoughts?

Inspirational old post on exercise
Gang. I’ve been a bit down recently. Post operative blues maybe but I think my belief that I’m too poorly to exercise has contributed. I can maybe mange 10? Good minutes on the bike and feel worse than I did before upon finishing. Then I read through my old posts and found this gem from member Bert
