I am on zoledronic acid infusions. I know these have a rate side effect of atypical femoral fractures. About a year ago I developed pain in my hip. OP nurse said to visit GP who got me to do a few leg raises then said that because the pain was not constant or only present if weight bearing it probably wasn't a fracture.
I also visited a physio but the symptoms haven't improved although site of pain has moved.
Does anyone have any experience of what the symptoms of these fractures are? I do also have a compression fracture at L1 so it could be related to that. I have booked to see a different physio next week.
Thanks

I am very surprised that knowing the possible side affect your dr didn't send you for an X-ray. Would it be possible to see a different Dr and actually ask for one to discount that as a possible source of pain? Particularly as you have an osteoporosis diagnosis, and it is a worry for you that you could do without. Take care.
