Well, it's been a painful couple of weeks!I managed to hurt my back again just around 2 weeks ago now .
All had been going well with the gym rehab and including 30 minute treadmill runs while I was there .
I think the culprit though was the squat machine!
I wasn't lifting anything heavy but it's very easy to be a little bit off with your form on this and last time I used it I definitely felt a bit of a twinge .
I went out for a couple of walks the day after but my back started to complain.
It's been 2 weeks now and a physio appointment on Tuesday and I'm just getting reasonable mobility back !
I have needed to miss 2 weeks at the gym and am at least now in a position that I can walk again , but it's really slow progress!
I also needed to cancel lessons for 1 week as I couldn't get in and out of my car !
The physio isn't too concerned though after a good examination and has given me more mobility excercises and suggested I walk when I can .
I should be at the gym again tomorrow but think I will leave it untill next Wednesday .
It's proving to be quite a challenge with keeping up my excercise and not over doing things with my back !

Shucks, I really hope this is sorted soon. I went through a phase just like this with 2 slipped discs in six months, then I couldn't do the exercises for my back as I did my rotator cuff, then the muscle injuries. At times it seems like one thing after another, but all you can do is try to stay level headed, do the exercises you can as best as you can, and ... move on.
That's a nice cat (bear cub as you call it) Ian, perhaps a friend for Misty, glad that your physio isn't too concerned about you after a good examination, I am sure you will be able to do more mobility excersises and of course you are enjoying your walks, take it easy in the gym regarding your back.
Back pain recovery can be very long indeed so I sympathise greatly. It just can be the slightest turn the wrong way or even just being in the wrong position and your back can be snookered for weeks. I know so I can most definitely relate to your post. I hope you can get back to 100% fairly soon. Have you tried Pilates for lower back pain? It works wonders for my back I have to say.
Sending you over lots of patience to get you through these times. You got this! Slowly but steady. And your determination shines though and will see you through this tough phase.
Sorry to hear that - I am similarly laid low... three weeks ago came down with something that made me feel unwell enough to take COVID test - negative apparently but wretched to the point of disbelieving it. Took all my energy to focus on basics of adulting. After 10 days of that I did "something" to my back which means its now nearly 3 weeks since I've been to do anything remotely active. Totally understand the car situation - that is certainly the most unpleasant thing for me. Have been banned from running and rowing until I am better - until then its frozen peas/heat packs/ibuprofen and patience. I am telling myself that it will be more frustrating to exacerbate the situation by heading back too early than it is waiting it out. Its infuriating, especially since I have no idea what caused it in the first place. Hope you are back to full fitness soon....
Oh no! What a bind π You have my utmost sympathy and I know just how it feels.
I have been a bit of a martyr to my spine since the initial injury way back when I was just 19. Since then I have had several surgeries, even more sessions of physio, and now just have to be grateful for whatever it's allows me to do.
My last round of surgery, around four years ago, was the last one possible and at least has given me a relatively mobile and relatively pain-free life which I am very grateful for. However, I am also extremely mindful that if It goes again there's not going to be a great deal more can be done to help me.
Take care, take it easy, and I'm sure you'll be back to good form soon. Wishing you the very best of luck for a full recovery ππ€
