Hi I am new to this group a little worried confused by the diagnosis,

I was encouraged by my physio therapist about strange chest pains I was having for more than a decade thinking it was something else relating too fibromyalgia thanks too her insistence it helped a lot as we have such limited times with out Doctors appointments and they have so many other patients

I didn’t mention it my ecg results showed a different from the last time I had one 😳.

Hello :-)

I suffer with Fibro to that is not a good start is it and I hope yours is under control

Sometimes there can be slight differences in ECG'S but try not to worry as they will tell your Doctor the results and they will tell you what was different and hopefully it will be nothing major or I thought they would have flagged it up straight away

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hi

Thank you for replying hope you’re as well as you can be.

I only found out on Wednesday my ECG wasn’t normal I only started taking the medication need a chest X-ray tomorrow then she’s referred me to the cardio respiratory department I use to work in one years ago so I know whats involved I staying calm I know more later on😃 I had the chest pains for years thought oh it’s just a fibromyalgia thing as we do I didn’t mention it too my gp I haven’t seen them for a number of years I have high blood pressure had medication increase along with medication to bring it down we truly never know what’s going on in our bodies I had an injury not going away it was the start of arthritis in so just get on with life there is a lot of people with far more serious things going on health wise it’s why I don’t see my doctors it only if it’s something completely new and not going away I will call them.

Thank you stay well hel52

Hello Hel52,

I have been in a similar situation. I have had chronic pain problems for many years related to a connective tissue disorder and over time just came to accept the pain I was in day to day managing it the best I could. I also had other pain issues and nausea, which after a referral to gastroenterology we’re put down to “indigestion”.

The only red flag I had was high cholesterol which would not budge regardless of lifestyle changes but I was refused statins when I asked for them on several occasions as my risk score for cardiac problems was considered to be too low. No one considered that at least some of my pain could be heart related. Several years later it transpired that a lot of the pain I had been experiencing was actually caused by angina. I don’t want to worry you too much, but it’s good that you are being referred to cardiology to get this thoroughly checked out fairly quickly. Hopefully it will help that you have worked in this area yourself, so are better informed than most people would be from the start. I probably don’t need to tell you this, but if the chest pain gets worse, or you develop other symptoms that could be heart related, don’t hesitate to get yourself to A&E, better to be safe than sorry. Let us know how you get on.
